Welcome to our first ever watch maintenance tutorial! To kickstart our watches maintenance guides, we show you how you can polish and remove scratches on yourRolextimepieces– yep you read that right. If you’d like to try these on your other watches, please ensure that they have polished / shiny finishes. DO NOT use this method for satin/brushed/matte finish watches or on Rolex steel braceletsbecause it will ruin the finishing!

Okay, now let’s get started, shall we?

You’ll Need

  1. Dry Microfibre cloth
  2. Electrical tape
  3. Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloth

Okay, before we proceed, please ensure that your dry microfibre cloth doesn’t have any sand or dirt residue on it because if any of these are stuck in your microfibre cloth, you may end up scratching your watch instead!

Before we begin, you want to polish only the shiny section of your Rolex Jubilee or Oyster bracelet, and this is usually the middle of the bracelet.Do note that on the steel bracelets are usually in satin/matte finish therefore,DO NOT ATTEMPT TO POLISH ITusing these steps. You can also polish the bezel if it’s shiny.

Step 1: Electrical Tape

Use the electrical tape to carefully tape over all brushed or satin parts of your Rolex watch, including the clasp. Don’t worry about it getting sticky once you remove the tape, because that can easily be washed off afterwards when we are done.

Step 2: Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloth

Take your Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloth and just gently rub over the shiny and polished parts of your Rolex watch, and within minutes, you’d notice that these polished bits are looking brighter than ever, almost as if you’d sent it in to be professionally polished. On areas where there are scratches, just gently rub a little bit more, and you’d either see them disappear altogether, or become less prominent (if they’re deeper scratches).

The Cape Cod Metal Polishing cloth can be used on all fine metals, including Gold (Pink, White, Yellow), Silver, Bronze, Copper, Nickel, Aluminium, Chrome, and Stainless Steel. What’s even better, is that it’s reusable! Just store in in the ziploc pouch when not in use.

Step 3: Dry Microfibre cloth

Once you are done polishing and wiping down the shiny bits of your Rolex, carefully remove the electrical tape. If it’s sticky, make sure the crown is tightly screwed down entirely, and just rinse yo watch under a running tap, and then finish off by wiping it with adry microfibre cloth.

And…Voila! We’re done in just a matter of minutes! 😉
