With 2022 coming to an end it’s time to start thinking about what’s going to be IN STYLE and OUT OF STYLE in 2023. I’m always excited to see which trends carry over to the next year along with which ones I’m going to retire, based on what’s in and what’s out. I will not only be sharing which trends you should consider ditching but I’m also sharing which trends you should replace them with. This will allow you to get a head start on planning your wardrobe in 2023!
Today’s post will not only help you decide which fabulous items to add to your wardrobe but also which items you should get rid of. OUT: LOW-WAISTED SKINNY JEGGINGS || IN: HIGH-WAISTED MODERN SKINNY JEANS
I often get asked if skinny jeans are out of style, and believe it or not, it’s not a straightforward answer! The super tight jegging style jeans with a low rise are definitely out, however, a good MODERN skinny jean is very much in for 2023. In fact, these Good American jeans are a perfect example of what I mean when I say a modern skinny jean, and with a price tag of $150, they are very affordable as well! So, do your wardrobe a favor and swap out your old jegging style denim and swap in a pair of these trending jeans. I’m wearing a size 00.

OUT: LEGGINGS PAIRED WITH A LONG TUNIC || IN: LEGGINGS WITH A BLAZER
The next fashion trend out of style in 2023 is wearing your leggings paired with a long tunic. I see this style a lot and I personally don’t think it looks very polished or put together; It’s definitely a more dated look as we’ve been seeing it for at least a few years now. In 2023 we are going to see a lot more of a sporty chic vibe, and pairing your favorite leggings with a classy blazer is the perfect swap for a long tunic. This faux leather blazer from Alice & Olivia is a great option and has been a best-seller multiple months in a row, so it would be a fantastic choice!

OUT: INFINITY SCARVES || IN: LONG SCARVES
Do you remember those circle scarfs that literally EVERYONE was wearing for a while? Well, they had a good run, but they fall into the dated category for 2023. Instead of a circle scarf, opt for a long scarf instead. There are SO many different ways to wrap, tie and style a long scarf that you can completely change your look depending on which style you choose. This scarf is by far my favorite since it’s the perfect length AND it’s made of 100% cashmere so it’s incredibly soft. Update your look for the New Year and treat yourself at the same time with this luxurious scarf from White + Warren.

OUT: WATERFALL CARDIGANS || IN: CARDIGANS WORN AS A SHIRT
The next fashion trend out of style in 2023 is waterfall cardigans. These are definitely out of style and I personally find they actually can make you look a bit frumpy, and who wants to look frumpy? A much better option is to wear a buttoned cardigan as a shirt, just like I have with this cutout cardigan from Express. I love this style because it’s chic, slimming and It’s currently on sale for under $60. I’m wearing an XS in this fashion-forward cardigan.

OUT: OPEN TOE BOOTIES || IN: POINTY TOE ANKLE BOOTIES
The last fashion trend out of style in 2023 is the infamous open-toed bootie! We were seeing these a ton the last few years on celebrities and mega influencers, but they have had their 15 minutes of fame and they are definitely out for 2023. Instead, I would recommend pointed-toe ankle booties or knee-high boots because they have an elongating effect on your legs and they are very versatile. These pointed ankle booties from Veronica Beard are one of my favorite pairs and I literally wear them all the time, so I can tell you they will last for years in your closet.
