Many viewers think that after being on TV, the 90 Day Fiancéstars must have garnered huge returns, and their lifestyle would have changed exponentially. However, the situation is drastically different. The contestants have become famous, but their financial conditions have not changed for good, especially foreign cast members. There are some scenarios in which the foreign cast members do not get paid at all.
In the past, many 90 Day Fiancé participants came forward and talked about their financial difficulties. Some have even arranged fundraisers or asked for donations to help themselves during hardships. According to the sources, each cast just earns $1000 per episode and $2,500 for any specials like Tell-All, which is only valid for America-based contestants. Many viewers would remember Danielle Jbali, who has previously appeared on 90 Day Fiancé, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? and 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined.

Danielle recently talked to Domenick Nati on his show and explained the paycheck that most of her fellow cast members get. She said, "I would say it's around $10,000 if you're in all the episodes for the season." She also confirmed that non-American participants don't earn a single dollar if they are filming in the States without a work permit. Danielle said, "I understand that if they film in another country, the foreigner can get paid. But when they're filming in the U.S., only the U.S. citizen gets paid unless they have the work permit." She says that foreign cast members don't get paid until they adjust their status and acquire the work permit. However, if they are shooting in their native countries for shows like Before the 90 Days and The Other Way, then they get monetary benefits. Does that mean Varya Malina was not paid for her visit to the States (considering she was on a tourist visa and didn't have a work permit)? Reports also confirm that the supporting cast members, such as friends and family, don't receive any payment from featuring on the show. That means, Geoffrey's ex, Mary Wallace, didn't get a single dime for her time on the show. Well, this clause seems justified, but the payment per episode, even for the US-based participants, is actually very low.
That's why many reality stars don't quit their jobs or immediately return to them after the show is wrapped up. Danielle said, "I've always had a job, even doing the show, I've always kept my job. I've never quit my job. I've always kept it because you can't live off of not knowing if you're gonna be filming again." Giving an example from her personal life, Danielle said that while she was being paid to appear on the show, her ex-husband Mohamed Jbali wasn't. However, he got paid after getting his work permit and social security number.90 Day Fiancéis quite popular, and one of the highest-rated franchises on TV. Still, the rates they pay for their cast members are substantially low.
