The Big Six, as they were dubbed, were the queens of the ’90s: Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, and Christy Turlington.
While today’s generation has Kaia Gerber, Kendall Jenner, Bella, and Gigi Hadid, the supermodels of the ’90s were their own breed. The “Supers” not only ruled the runway, but they also fronted every magazine cover and became celebrities in their own right. Case in point: George Michael’s ‘Freedom‘ music video and thosecelebrated words uttered by Linda Evangelista,“We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day.”
According to fashion folklore, their highest recorded fees include Christy Turlington‘s three million dollar contract with Calvin Klien and one signed by Claudia Schiffer, who at the peak of her reignwas the face Chanel for one full year, earning 15 million dollars.
