HelpGuide's Story
HelpGuide is dedicated to Morgan Leslie Segal. Morgan died by suicide in 1996. We believe her suicide could have been prevented if she and her family had access to the wide range of evidence-based information and self-help tools that HelpGuide now provides.

The Legacy of Dr. Jeanne Segal
Jeanne Segal, Ph.D., (1939 – 2017) devoted her life to helping people improve their mental, emotional, and social health. Over the course of a nearly 50-year career, she made innumerable contributions to the mental health field, including groundbreaking work on emotional intelligence, holistic health, attachment, and childhood trauma. Through HelpGuide, her legacy lives on.
