Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP), originally codenamed Scorpion W2, is a military camouflage pattern adopted in 2015 by the United States Army for use as the U.S. Army's main camouflage pattern on the Army Combat Uniform (ACU).
The OCP is replacing the Airman Battle Uniform, a gray and sage green digital tiger-stripe uniform that most Airmen wear. The mandatory wear date for the ABU was October 2011 when it replaced both the woodland camouflage Battle Dress Uniform and Desert Camouflage Uniform.
Both types of uniform use the same Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) as their base design, but they also feature different color schemes depending on the branch of service. They use a color palette of tan, green, and brown, while air force OCP uniforms use a color palette of blue and grey.
No PDA. PDA, or public displays of affection, is considered unprofessional, and a big no-no while in uniform. However, each unit, branch, and area treat this rule with different severity. This can include hugging, kissing, holding hands, and even holding children.
Hair will be neatly and inconspicuously fastened or secured in either a bun, singular ponytail, two braids or singular braid. Multiple locs, braids, twists or cornrows may come together in one or two braids or a single ponytail.

The change in garb is also said to be the result of feedback from personnel claiming a more battle-ready uniform would be preferable to the traditional ABU.
The standards for wearing the uniform consist of four elements: neatness, cleanliness, safety, and military image. Black socks will be worn with low quarters, dress boots and black jungle/combat boots. Plain white socks may be worn under the black socks as long as the white socks are not visible.

OCP has larger blobs and is generally a horizontal pattern, with the fields and blobs stretching east to west. MultiCam, on the other hand, has smaller blobs speckled in bunches, with distinctive vertical slashes of dark brown and light beige.

Class A uniform consists of the following: (1) Male - Garrison beret, Army service coat and trousers, white service shirt (short or long sleeve), a black four-in hand necktie, black oxford shoes, black socks, black belt with brass buckle and tip, black all weather coat (optional), uniform brass and accessories.

Today, airmen who had begun wearing the OCP are authorized to wear the desert sand T-shirt, green socks, and subdued black and green cloth U.S. flag patches, as well as the older boots.
Supervisors may grant brief excused absences on an ad hoc basis for periods of up to 59 minutes. The authority can be used for all employees as long as the reasons are justifiable. Cases of occasional tardiness to work, for example, due to a flat tire or problem at home, can also be covered by the rule.

OCP Jacket and Pants: May be washed at home in normal laundry with like colors. Zip up the jacket and button the pants. Turn both items inside out for washing to protect the Velcro. Can be dried in a dryer but highly recommend you just allow them to air dry.
Army Regulation 670-1 permits soldiers to wear headphones or earbuds in uniform when in an indoor training or fitness area if their commander allows it.
According to AFI 36-2903, you can not walk, talk and text in uniform unless you are performing official duties, there is an emergency, or in other extreme situations.
In addition to following the OCPS dress code students wear uniforms as follows: A long or short sleeved solid color blouse, polo shirt or t-shirt with jeans or solid navy blue, black, khaki (tan) skirt, walking shorts, slacks, skorts, jumper or similar clothing.
Coyote brown is approved for all the armed force branches; olive green and coyote brown are used by the Air Force; and black is favored amongst law enforcement.
You should not wear your uniform when you are off duty, except for transportation home. Some military assignments have strict rules against wearing a uniform while off duty, especially when stationed overseas.

Both active and former members of the military should be dressed in their Class-A uniform which is commonly referred to as a Dress Uniform. A military funeral is not the time to wear your military mess dress. Civilians are expected to dress in formal attire much like you would if you were attending a church service.
