An inside look at how we clean our train cars (2024)

Meet the unsung heroes who scrub, mop, sanitize, and polish our trains. Our car cleaning crews work every night of the week scrubbing the inside of train cars to keep them clean and disinfected (including the seats!).

This video offers a glimpse at our top-to-bottom cleaning efforts. We clean cars multiple times a day. Each line has a designatedlocation where a member of our clean-up crew walks the length of the train to pick up trash and spot clean as necessary. Then a deeper cleaning occurs at night.

Riders can help by not leaving behind any trash and reporting unsafe conditions to the train operator.
