Background. After forming on December 21, 2010, in Sacramento, California, Death Grips released their first song "Full Moon (Death Classic)" on March 8, 2011, along with a corresponding music video and a free self-titled EP.

Accused of breaching their contract, Death Grips are ordered to surrender their master recordings and remove the music from the web. No Love Deep Web "will not count towards [Death Grips'] recording commitment [to Epic]," they write. "[We] will not pay for an album that thousands of people have already downloaded."

Death Grips has released six studio albums and four EP's so far. Each release has often been accompanied by some sort of controversy, like when the band leaked "No Love Deep Web"early against its label's wishes, causing them to get cut from their recording contract.

Death Grips is experimental hip-hop with a complement on the experimental, since somebody raps, doesn't make it conventional hip-hop. They are a band of limits, from the drumming of Zach Slope, the thumps brought by Flatlander and by a long shot the angriest of the trio, the vicious vocals from MC Ride.

Kanye West's 2013 record “Yeezus” took influence from Death Grips using obscure samples, screaming, and noisy electronics to create a violent sound. Even legendary recording artist David Bowie was influenced by DG on his final record “Blackstar,” according to his producer, Donny McCaslin, in an interview with Uncut.
