Arming

When you first set up your Blink system, your system is Disarmed by default. If you want to receive motion notification for motion events, you must first arm your Blink system in the Blink app. Once your system is Armed, any motion detected by your cameras will send a notification to your mobile device.

If you have a Blink Subscription Plan or trial or you are using Local Storage with a Sync Module 2 and USB drive, motion events are recorded as motion clips. If you are not subscribing to a Blink Subscription Plan or do not have local storage, no motion clips are saved.

You can arm your Blink system by tapping Armed at the bottom of the Home screen (as shown below). A message will display confirming that your system has been Armed.

Disarming

If your system is Disarmed, your camera will not send you motion notifications for motion events or record motion clips.

If you want to disarm your Blink system or cameras, tap the Disarmed button. It will turn blue indicating that your system is disarmed.

Notifications

If you want to receive notifications for motion events, you must first arm your Blink system. Once your system is Armed, the Motion Detection icon Arming and Disarming your Blink System for Motion Detection — Blink Support (17)displays in the corner of your camera's thumbnail on the Home screen.

When Motion Detection is on, any significant movement detected by your camera(s) will send a notification to your mobile device. If Motion Detection is off, that camera will not send any notifications.
