In a recent interview with The Guardian, Billie Eilish spoke out about the glamorization of drug use, particularly when it comes to teens and young adults, revealing it’s a subject close to her heart.
“I don’t want my friends to die anymore,” she told the publication.
Eilish discussed her song “Xanny,” which refers to Xanax, explaining that the song’s message is “less ‘don’t do drugs’; it’s more ‘be safe.'” She also urged teens to avoid being peer-pressured into trying the drug, saying, “I know people around you doing that sh*t makes you want to, but you don’t have to.”

The singer also revealed that she has never done recreational drugs of any kind herself.
“I have never done drugs, I’ve never got high, I’ve never smoked anything in my life. I don’t give a f–k, I never have,” she said.“It’s just not interesting to me. I have other s–t to do.”
