I would say your experience is typical. I posted a similar question several years ago and did get a number of responses from people that kept their FitBit going three years or so, but also from people whose FitBit lasted six months. Three years is about the expected life of the battery.
Extreme cold or heat can affect the battery's ability to charge and retain its charge. Update your Fitbit firmware to the latest version. Fitbit regularly releases firmware updates that can improve battery performance and fix bugs. You can check for updates in the Fitbit app or on your device.
The slim, lightweight Inspire 3 can go up to 10 days in between charges, giving it the longest battery life of any Fitbit. Part of that extended battery life is the result of ditching the built-in GPS you get with the Versa 4, Sense 2 and Charge 5.
If your phone's battery is draining faster than usual, it either means you're using a lot of energy or your phone is not using energy efficiently. This could mean you're overworking your phone by running too many applications, or something is physically wrong with the phone battery itself.
The most common reason is moisture getting in. However to make sure it is the watch and not due to the Fitbit App try this. Turn off the phone's Bluetooth overnight and / or logout of the Fitbit App and fully charge and restart the watch so it is running afresh.
