Here’s the short answer to this question: yes, it’s possible to become a fashion stylist without a degree. The only reason why you need a specific qualification for a fashion stylist is if you have any intention to work in an agency specialized on that.

If you’re an expert in what you do and your expertise transforms their life for the better, then they couldn’t care less whether you have a degree or not.
Of course, you still need a degree for certain things such as the medical field. You don’t want to go under surgery or a major operation with a doctor who only reads how-to books, do you?
But in fashion styling scenario, it’s fine not to have a degree.
Start small, one thing at a time
Now, you already realize that you don’t need to have a degree if you want to become a fashion stylist.
But then again, where you should begin?
If you already have a rough idea on the people in your social circle who can benefit your service, you can start from there. Don’t forget to ask them to refer you to their friends and family if they love with the result you provide.
If you don’t, then come up with a list of people who can benefit from what you have to offer and starts talking to them. That’s how you get the ball rolling.
