Engagement rings are often one of the biggest ticket items purchased by your partner in their lifetime – with many saving up months and months of pay to splurge on a few carats for their spouse-to-be.
However, these celebrity partners have taken things to a whole new level, dropping (literally) millions on a diamond to lock in their equally famous girlfriends. Here we run through the biggest and most expensive celebrity engagement rings.
Demi Lovato’s Engagement Ring
Demi Lovato was proposed to by her boyfriend Max Ehrich on the beach, with a friend secretly capturing photos of the moment for the couple. Stating “I knew I loved you the moment I met you,” Lovato is now sporting a massive rock on her ring finger. Rumour has it, Demi Lovato’s engagement ring is a whopping 12 carat diamond in an Emerald Cut with two flanker diamonds on either side.
Kim Kardashian West’s Engagement Ring
Kanye West proposed to Kim Kardashian with this GIANT engagement ring by Lorraine Schwartz. The diamond alone is 15-carats and costs between $2 million and $4 million.
Designed by Lorraine Schwartz, Beyonce has a mahoosive 24-carat emerald-cut diamond engagement ring with a split shank setting. Jay Z clearly had to fork out for this sparkler, with the ring estimated to have cost around $5 million.
Kate Middleton’s Engagement Ring
Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with a royal heirloom – his mother, Princess Diana’s iconic sapphire and diamond engagement ring designed by Garrard. The ring itself is about 12 carats and is worth around $500,000.
Meghan Markle’s Engagement Ring
Prince Harry took the romantic route with the ring he proposed to Meghan Markle with. Working with jeweller Cleave & Company to design a ring around a cushion-cut centre stone from Botswana (a special place for the couple) and two smaller diamonds taken from a brooch owned by Princess Diana.
Blake Lively’s Engagement Ring
Just a casual 12-carat oval diamond ring from Ryan Reynolds is what Blake Lively sports on her ring finger each and every day. Designed by Lorraine Schwartz, this pink diamond is estimated just over $2 million.
Priyanka Chopra’s Engagement Ring
Nick Jonas famously shut down an entire Tiffany & Co. store to find the perfect engagement ring for Priyanka Chopra. The cushion-cut diamond ring featuring baguette diamonds on either side appears to be about 5 carats and is rumoured to cost around $150,000.
Sophie Turner’s Engagement Ring
Joe Jonas proposed to his ‘Game of Thrones’ girlfriend, Sophie Turner, with a pear-shaped diamond engagement ring sitting pretty with just over 3 carats. There appear to be a few questions around the cost of this sparkler, with price estimates between $20,000 and $58,000.
Jennifer Lopez’s Engagement Ring
When Ben Affleck proposed to Jennifer Lopez for the second time, he gave an elegant green ring to his fiance.
According to reports, the ring has a green diamond as a stone with two other clear diamonds on it. Many believe the stone is actually an emerald. This is said to be because JLo considers green to be her ‘lucky’ colour.
JLo’s new engagement ring has an estimated value of $5 million. While some publications have estimated its worth at $10 million!
Serena William’s Engagement Ring
Tennis champion Serena William’s was proposed to by Alexis Ohanian (the co-founder of Reddit) with a 12 carat emerald-cut diamond valued at around $2 million.
Amal Clooney’s Engagement Ring
George Clooney proposed to his human rights lawyer-extraordinaire with a 7 carat emerald cut engagement ring by Jacob Arabo of Jacob & Co. The engagement ring is predicted to cost around $750,000.
