#CFC commends Ghana for being at the forefront of this historic announcement for visa-free entry for all Africans. As a catalyst for economic transformation in #Africa, the government of #Ghana, led by President Nana Akufo-Addo, has decided to enact a visa-free entrance policy for all Africans to the nation this year. As CFC is working with other partners and stakeholders for the implementation of the #AfCFTA, we urge other member states in Africa and beyond to come forward to replicate and scale up historic measures like what Ghana enacted with so much of courage and foresight. With the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat market encompassing 1.7 billion people and a $3.4 trillion GDP, the Common Fund for Commodities advocates for its implementation to enhance trade and formalize informal trade across all African nations including Ghana. 7 new investments with the potential to benefit over 131,000 smallholders have been recommended by our Consultative Committee!With access to over 41.4 million combined funding, we strive to support agribusinesses that are recreating economic opportunities where they are most needed.AmbassadorSheikh Belal, Managing Director of CFC, also provided an update on the establishment of the Agricultural Commodity Transformation (ACT) Fund, a $100 million impact fund, and the need to mobilize resources for impact investing. The ongoing Third South Summit G-77 is advocating for a crucial shift in focus towards commodities to break free from global commodity dependency. 🌍🌱 Sixty years ago, recognizing the need for unity and solidarity in the face of common challenges, the G77 was born. Now G-77 and China is the major force behind the campaign to "Leave no one behind".
