The Cordite is a submachine gun featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. It was developed in the United States by the fictional manufacturer SMG Rodeo. It also has an MKII variant along with a Mastercraft variant.

Multiplayer[]

The Cordite has the largest ammo capacity of the submachine guns at 60 rounds per magazine. This gives the Cordite great usability and allows it to excel both on long killstreaks and in prolonged engagements versus multiple opponents. The Cordite boasts an average time-to-kill and middling, easy-to-handle recoil.

Its damage model and low recoil allows the weapon to effectively win gunfights out to close-medium range with sufficient accuracy, but some players may struggle to outcompete assault rifle users past that. To balance the large magazine, the Cordite suffers from a slower-than-average reload time. However, this does not fully hamper the Cordite, as the large magazine size reduces the frequency of reloads anyway.

Optics such as the Reflex are preferred for improving performance, but the choice of sight is largely up to user preference. The Quickdraw is a solid choice for snapping to targets faster, which can help with getting the first shot on target and winning close-quarters gunfights.

As for general attachments, Grip can improve medium-range usability by reducing recoil, however is not always a necessity due to the moderate base recoil. FMJ and High Caliber tend to be more situational attachments that can be helpful in many combat scenarios. It also has Belt-Feed, an exclusive Operator Mod that gives the Cordite a 600 round magazine that overheats with prolonged fire.

Zombies[]

The Cordite appears in the Zombies maps Voyage of Despair, IX, Blood of the Dead, Classified, Dead of the Night, Ancient Evil, Alpha Omega and Tag der Toten where it's available as a weapon within the Mystery Box for 950 points.

When upgraded via Pack-a-Punch Machine, it becomes the Corpsemaker with the magazine size increased to 100 rounds and its ammo reserve increased to 500.

Attachments[]

The Cordite has a targeted set of attachments, primarily focused on improving the weapons overall damage potential. The Cordite also has Belt-Feed, an Operator Mod which heavily increases the Cordite's ammo capacity.
