The next core value I would like to dive into is Creativity. We define this as “innovative, problem-solving, adaptable and flexible as to how problems are solved.” When we survey clients, we overwhelmingly get positive feedback on our creativity as individuals and as a company in solving their toughest problems. We also publicly praise feats of creativity whenever possible, which is rewarding for the recognized individual and inspirational to fellow employees.
One of our employees has been working on an implementation for a Third Party Logistics Provider (3PL). This 3PL has over forty e-commerce clients with unique challenges. He told me that some might think that working for a company that emphasizes a “no mods” approach to software implementations stifles creativity. In fact, it's exactly the opposite. He's been forced to explorehow to creatively push the limits of the software within the definition of a standard product, constantly asking how we can use a functionality differently, or repurpose a screen, filter, or function to meet client needs.
Even beyond the software, we’re often creatively troubleshooting business process problems. We provide our clients with a product that is supportable, upgradeable and sustainable over time through our creativity and open-mindedness. This is because we have not taken the easy way out and just built a customization. Creativity may play a key role in delivering something that will be the least impactful on maintenance and upgrades.
