Current Mask Requirements at Disneyland Resort (2024)

Categories: Kids At Disney, Parks 101, Travel Planning, What to bring

The mask status in California and specifically Disneyland Resort has changed a lot over the last year. We wanted to remind you what is currently happening at the parks to help prepare you for your next trip. With a rise in Covid cases again, we hope these measures help keep the doors open.

Per the Disneyland.com website:

Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) in all indoor locations, regardless of vaccination status. This includes upon entering and throughout many attractions and in enclosed transportation vehicles, including shuttles and buses. Face coverings remain optional for Guests in outdoor common areas.

While Guests will not be required to show proof of vaccination, all Guests must attest that they are aware that: 1) the State of California strongly recommends that Guests be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering the Disneyland Resort, and (2) all Guests (ages 2 and up) must wear face coverings when indoors, including on many attractions and in enclosed transportation vehicles.

All face coverings (whether disposable or reusable) must:

  • Be made with at least 2 layers of breathable material
  • Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow the Guest to remain hands-free

At this time, based on guidance from health authorities, neck gaiters, open-chin, triangle bandanas and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings.

  1. Be sure to pack a few extra masks per person. You may lose one or get wet on Splash Mountain or food.
  2. Lanyards are a great idea especially for the kids. You take them on and off a lot and helps keep them more sanitary.
  3. Help the young one practice at home. Most kids are use to masks in todays world but if your toddlers or younger kids haven’t been, practice wearing them at home.

I am co-host to the Mom Voice Podcast and work part time in Sales. I’ve grown up loving the Disney Parks, and dreamed of being a Disney Princess. My dream came true as I was casted as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty in the Disney College Program in Walt Disney World. I loved working there and brining the magic to life! I went on to a short contract on the Disney Cruise Line.
