Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 20,237 SEPA | I was doing a search for a better quality stacked dado set and came across this tidbit: Quote As already mentioned dado blades are illegal on UK (EU) table saws because in order to use them the guard and riving knife have to be removed, and is therefore unsafe. This is not the case in the USA. Because of this, all UK or european table saws are deliberatley fitted with short arbors to prevent their use. Talk about a nanny state! |

Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 2,901 American In the Pyrenees; Fran... | I might have been wrong about my saw accepting dado stacks. When I moved here 11 years ago I brought my 10" Rockwell saw. When I couldn't get anyone to fix my motor I bought a 10" Makita that came from the UK. I never put a dado stack on it. I can buy dado stacks here, like this one...https://www.manomano.fr/p/dado-de-precision-d150x32x1587-z20-ftg-atb-23052006-599724, but you might be right about the arbor length. My saw is up at the farm so I'll check it out tomorrow. Pete |
