Daniel Le Domas is an anti-hero in Ready or Not.
Biography[]
Daniel was husband of Charity, the eldest child of Becky and Tony Le Domas and the elder brother of Alex and Emilie.
At the age of 6 or 7, Daniel and Alex (who was 5 at the time) decided to join in on the game of Hide and Seek pulled by their aunt Helene's husband, Charles. Daniel hid Alex in a closet, only to be found by Charles; shot full of arrows and begging for Daniel's help. Daniel shouted to alert the family to Charles' whereabouts, where he was found by the family and taken to the game room to be sacrificed. Becky tells Daniel how proud she is of him, and it's clear a younger Daniel has realized what's about to happen to his uncle and regrets his actions.
Daniel suffers from alcoholism, presumably due to the nature of his family's satanism and being unable to cope with it. It's unknown how long he's been drinking.
He married Charity, but their relationship is portrayed as cold and rather unloving. Especially since Daniel refers to Charity as a "gold-digging whor*" and Charity calls him "pathetic". Daniel informed Charity of the chance that she could pull the Hide and Seek card, and she's said to have 'not even blinked' and married him anyway. This implies that they might have cared for each other in the beginning of their relationship. The couple never had children.
From the start of the movie, Daniel had discreetly been trying to put Grace off of joining their family. From 'hitting on' her (as Grace herself puts it), to telling her she doesn't belong in their family. However, his attempts are in vein as Grace marries Alex and eventually pulls the Hide and Seek card.
Throughout the night, Daniel's reluctance is clear. He lets Grace escape and gives her a ten second head start. He later finds her after the car wreck, and Grace pleads with him to let her go, insisting that he's a "good guy. A really good guy." Daniel admits that he rather likes Grace, but he won't let his family die because of her and as a result knocks her unconscious. Tony comes out from behind the trees, and they both take Grace back to the house to be sacrificed.
The family prepares for the sacrifice, and we see a shot of Daniel in the montage, clearly upset about what's to come. He laces the ceremonial goblet and pretends to drink from it, thus betraying his family and helping Grace escape. He unties her from the table and escapes the room with her, stating that he didn't know he'd help her when Grace tells him she knew he would.
Death[]
Daniel and Grace are about to leave down a hallway when Charity finds them. Daniel makes sure Grace is behind him before telling Charity that she doesn't have to kill them. To which Charity says, rather hurt, that Daniel doesn't care if she dies. Before he can answer, she shoots him in the neck. It's unknown if it was unintentional or not, judging by the shocked look on Charity's face; it's possible she was aiming for an area that wouldn't kill him but incapacitate him, or that she didn't mean to fire at all.
Grace knocks Charity unconscious before rushing over to Daniel to try and save him. He manages to tell her to go, and she thanks him. Daniel is later found by Alex, who pleads for him to stay alive. But, eventually, Daniel bleeds out and dies.

- Daniel was played by Adam Brody who also portrayed Officer Hoss in Scream 4 and Nikolai Wolf in Jennifer's Body.
- It's unknown if Daniel is 36 or 37, as Emilie says he was "6 or 7" in the flashback that took place thirty years prior to the movie.
- He is an alcoholic and is frequently seen drinking.
- Adam Brody went out to a bar one night once he got the role to get into the headspace of Daniel.
- He never once shoots his gun and only uses it to knock Grace unconscious.
- Daniel and Alex have a very close sibling bond and joke around with each other.
