What are the 3 questions that should ALWAYS be asked when someone orders any kind of martini?
1. Would you like vodka or gin? (then top/call brands) 2. Will that be straight up or on the rocks? 3. Would you like a lemon twist or olives?
What is another question that you can ask when someone orders a martini and when is it not necessary to ask this question?
Will that be shaken or stirred? Some places have setpolicies on this: always shaken oralways stirred but the most common policy is whatever the customer asks for. The "always" scenarios apply if neither is specifically requested.
What does a traditional martini indicate?
A quick 2 count of dry vermouth is used to make the martini.
What does a dry martini mean?
A quick 1 count of dry vermouth is used.
What does an extra dry martini indicate?
Wash the rocks; add 1 oz of dry vermouth to the ice, shake and strain out the vermouth down the wet sink.
What does a bone dry martini indicate?
No vermouth is used at all.
What does a wet martini indicate?
A wet martini indicates that extra vermouth is added. To be safe, pour a regular 2 count, ask the customer to try it and if they want more add a quick 1 count of dry vermouth with the entire contents back in the mixer with ice and either shake or stir again and serve the martini again after this process.
