Dial *69 for The Number of Your Last Phone Call

Bell Atlantic's Talking Return Call Now Available in Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Pennsylvania customers using Bell Atlantic®
Talking Return Call^SM service now
can find out, without any special equipment, the phone number of the last
person who called.

Return Call allows customers to automatically return the last incoming
local phone call. The service is activated by dialing *69 or 1169 for
rotary phone users.

As a result of new technology, customers who use Talking Return Call
now can know the phone number they are calling before they return the
call. When customers dial *69, they will first hear a recorded
message which provides the phone number of the last incoming call
along with the time and date of the call. If they wish to return the
call immediately, they simply dial "1" on their phone. Talking
Return
Call will automatically dial the number for them. Customers using this
service on a per-use basis will be charged when they dial *69 and hear
the phone number, whether or not they return the call.

"By using Talking Return Call, customers will know who just called.
They now can return the call immediately, later or not at all. It
also helps them control who they want to talk to and when," said

Clinton, Bell Atlantic product manager.

Residential and business customers can subscribe to Talking Return
Call for $4 a month. Or customers can pay as they go at 75 cents per
use. Through Feb. 28, residential customers can get one month free
when they become new subscribers to Talking Return Call.

"Talking Return Call complements Caller ID," Clinton said.
"Caller ID
display units store phone numbers, allowing customers to see the
numbers of all the unblocked calls they receive. Talking Return Call
provides customers with the phone number of the last call from any
phone in the house without the need for special equipment. It also
works well with Call Waiting, allowing you to find out who called
while you were on another call, even if you didn't take the second
call."

Callers may block the disclosure of their telephone numbers to Talking
Return Call users by dialing *67 (1167 on rotary telephones) prior to
making each telephone call or by using per line blocking.

The Talking Return Call enhancement was introduced to Bell Atlantic
customers in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of
Columbia in 1995 and in New Jersey and Delaware in 1996.
