After 12 seasons, Project Runway has it's first African American winner. Chic and stylish contestant Dom Streater took the title after she blew the judges away with her “Retro Redux” collection. She describes her work as, “future as it was viewed by artists and writers, pre-1960s.”

For the first time in 12 seasons the show has its first black winner, Dom Streater. While seemingly way overdue, this is an accomplishment which highlights ongoing racial issues in the fashion industry.
