Dorm rooms are tricky to decorate since you can’t hammer anything on the walls, but most students want to make their space “their own” by putting up plenty of cool posters. The solution is to use painter’s tape or another low adhesive tape that peels off easily without damaging the walls or wrecking your posters. Use a different color of tape to enhance each piece you’re hanging or use the same color throughout. Tape all the corners like we did here, or frame the whole piece with tape to create a faux frame. There are no rules, so have fun with it.

This is also great to use in kids’ rooms as a safe way for them to decorate their space with posters and drawings without using any hardware or damaging the walls. And it’s colorful too!

From now on, don’t hide the tape behind your posters, make it visible and part of the art itself!

Note: Over time the tape might slowly peel off. Simply replace it with new pieces.
