Cannes Film Festival 2023 is one of of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. The festival premieres several critically acclaimed films from across the globe and is annually held in France. This year, the 76th Cannes Film Festival will be held between May 16 and May 27. Ruben Ostlund is the jury president of the festival. Many celebrities from the world including Indian and South Korean stars will be marking their presence at the coveted festival too.

CANNES 2023: COST TO ATTEND THE FESTIVAL

However, did you know that you could also attend Cannes?

If you are looking at attending Cannes yourself, it can happen. The film festival is generally open to accredited individuals including journalists and film industry professionals. For industry professionals, ticket price to be a part of the festival ranges between $6100 (Rs 5 lakh) to $25000 (Rs 25 lakh), as reported VIP Concierge website.

The accreditation varies for different people. For example, there is a festival accreditation which is a free stamp that allows holder access to screenings, official activities and venues like the Palais, Village International, Riviera, and hotels.

Another one is Market accreditation which is available only for board members and film industry-related company employees. For this, one needs to pay around $326.30 (Rs 26,811.74).

Then there is press accreditation given to journalists followed by cinephiles accreditation which is given to the local public to officially watch the selected films. Education groups and film enthusiasts are given this opportunity.

Lastly, for those who are not a part of the industry, you can catch screenings at the Directors' Fortnight and the Cinéma de la Plage (Beach Cinema) from 9.30 pm. The seats are available based first-come-first-service.

ABOUT THE JURY AND ATTENDEES

Meanwhile, the function will be attended by Hollywood biggies like Natalie Portman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Sean Penn, Alicia Vikander, the Weeknd, and Scarlett Johansson. Indian actors like Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sara Ali Khan, Sunny Leone, Vijay Varma among others will also be marking their presence.

On the other hand, Ostlund will be joined by Brie Larson, Paul Dano, French director Julia Ducournau, Argentine filmmaker Damián Szifron, Afghan director Atiq Rahimi, French actor Denis Ménochet, Moroccan filmmaker Maryam Tourzani and Zambian-Welsh director Rungano Nyoni.
