Let’s jump right into it!

Can You Wear Glasses With Eyelash Extensions?

Yes! Glasses can be worn with eyelash extensions. A custom design will be created for you with shorter and curlier extensions to avoid your lashes hitting your glasses.

Many of my clients wear glasses and have no problem with their lash extensions.

My advice is to bring your glasses with you on the day of your lash appointment. Your lash stylist will be able to judge the distance between your face and the eyeglasses and customize a perfect look for you.

What Lash Extension Length & Curl to Use With Glasses?

As a rule of thumb, the natural lash should be extended by 1 to 2 mm for people who wear glasses. That way, you leave enough room for the eyelashes to blink without touching the glasses lens.

Therefore, if the natural lash is 11 mm long, you can use an extension that is 11 mm or 12 mm. Remember, the extension is not applied directly at the base of the natural lash so you have to account for that space (generally about 1 mm).

“Lash extensions in the middle of the eyes are more likely to hit your frame. Therefore, your lash stylist will account for this when customizing a look that meets your desire.”

Another thing to consider is the extension’s curl. The curlier the extension, the less likely it is to touch your glasses. So, if you wear glasses, choose C or D curls instead of J or B curls.

As you can see in this image, the lady on the left is using J curls while the lady on the right is using U curls which are much stronger curls.

The result?

A more open-eyed look with eyelashes that can freely blink without interference 🙂

How to Wear Glasses With Lash Extensions

The only thing to keep in mind is where you put your glasses on the bridge of your nose.

If you put them too close to your lash line, they can cause the extensions to rub against them. That’s why I said earlier it’s best to bring your frames with you on the day of your appointment.

After that, make sure to always wear your glasses at roughly the same spot on the bridge of your nose.

The Bottom Line

By bringing your glasses to your lash appointment, your stylist and yourself will both decide on the perfect choice of style, length, curl, and eyelash type for your lashes to move freely and look their best.
