Do you ever have sales or promotions?

What’s all this about scale?

Miniatures come in a wide variety of “standard” sizes. Often, it is quite easy to determine the scale of your project based on the height of the doors and windows, and the height of the rooms. It becomes a bit unclear when looking at a homemade project, as scale sometimes slips a bit. And it the 1:16 and 1:18 scales, furnishings are sometimes used interchangeably. When in doubt, scale down—higher ceilings and taller doors and windows are preferable to cramped spaces. Here is a very general overview:

1:12 SCALE is kind of the standard, and most widely-available. Also referred to as 1-inch scale, it essentially translates to one inch for every one foot in full scale. Thus, a doorway that would be about 7 feet in your home would be roughly 7 inches in your dollhouse. Calico Critters also fit into this scale.

1:6 SCALE is twice as big as 1:12 scale. Thus, a doorway would be about 14 inches. Often called Fashion Scale or Playscale, Barbie and larger, collectable action figures fit into this scale.

1:16 SCALE is also called 3/4 scale, in which one inch in miniature equals 16 inches in full scale. A doorway in 1:16 scale will be a little over 5 inches tall.

1:18 SCALE is referred to as 2/3 scale. A doorway in this scale is about 4.5 inches tall. Lundby is 1:18 scale.

1:24 SCALE is also called half-scale and is twice as small as 1:12 scale. So, a doorway would be closer to 3.5 inches.

1:48 SCALE or quarter-scale is quite tiny. A doorway in 1:48 scale is less than 2 inches tall.

1:144 SCALE is referred to as micro-scale. We don’t know how anyone works this small, but if you do happen to find a building in 1:44 scale it will work perfectly as a 1:12 dollhouse in a 1:12 dollhouse. So meta, right?

What scale do you work in?

We work almost exclusively in 1:12 scale, mostly because that is the size of dollhouses that we’re currently renovating. Some of our products can easily be modified to fit other scales. If you’ve got something specific in mind, let us know. We’re happy to add your resize request to our mini to-do list!

Do you ship internationally?

Absolutely! We enjoy purchasing miniatures from all of the world, so it only makes sense that our shop ships worldwide. Most products don’t weight very much, and we’ve taken care to ensure that shipping is as affordable as possible.

How long do international shipments take?

Before the pandemic, our international orders were typically taking just under two weeks. Currently, customs locations have been turning into massive bottlenecks, with the USPS is reporting delays of up to 2-3 weeks. We’ve seen delivery times improving in the last few weeks though, so things are definitely looking up at the moment.

The item is want is sold out. What next?

Shoot, sorry about that. We do our best to keep everything full-stocked. In the event of an item selling out, you’ll see a button that says “Let me know when it’s back”. If you click on it, you’ll have the option to submit a restock request, which lets us know that you want it back in stock and also sends you and email as soon as it is back in stock. In some cases, you’ll need to select the option (color, size…) that you are looking to have restocked before the restock request button will appear.

Are your products for kids?

Not so much. These items are intended for adult collectors. They are small and delicate in nature and could potentially be hazardous to small children. We’re not gonna say that our kids don’t end up playing with everything in our collection, but they’ve also been known to destroy a small amount of it.

Will you take custom orders?

If we can! Honestly, we love hearing your ideas. Send us a note if there is something that you would like designed, we’ll keep in touch.

Can you print out one of the printable wallpapers for me?

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to print the flooring and wallpaper on demand. Printables are great if you have a trusty printer. If not, you can have them printed with a print shop like Staples or Kinkos. But, we definitely understand if that all seems like too much to handle. We do have a few preprinted options available here.

What are printables anyway?

Printables are portable digital format (PDF) files that can be downloaded and printed instantly. Files can be printed at home, with a professional print shop or an online printer. Most printables are formatted to print on a 8.5" x 11" or an 11 x 17” sheet.

Printables are perfect for do-it-yourself (DIY) crafters and last-minute planners. With no shipping fees to pay and no waiting for your products to arrive, instant downloads are extremely convenient and affordable. You many also print as many as you would like for your own use.

Will I receive any physical items in the mail?

Nope. No need to wait around for the postman. When you purchase a printable PDF, you'll receive your download link right away.

What if I only have a black and white printer?

You’re in luck! We try to always include some designs that will print well in black and white.

How do I use my printables?

Your download will include more specific instructions, but we have detailed tutorials for all of our printables. Check them out here.

What if I’m not happy with my order?

We always strive for our customers to be 100% satisfied with their purchases from our shop. If you feel anything other than pleased with your order, please contact us right away!
