The Fashion Institute of Technology is a public institution of higher education with ties to private industry designed to benefit the students. FIT has big city pizazz and high-end sophistication with a safe campus and a real-world mindset. FIT offers Associate of Applied Arts Degrees, Bachelor of Science Degrees, Bachelor of Fine Arts Degrees, Master of Arts Degrees, and Master of Professional Studies Degrees.

Transfer Application Requirements

Minimum GPA:

FIT generally consider applicants with a grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Official Transcripts:

Transfer students who have not yet earned their collegedegree must submit a high school transcript with proof of high school graduation. Official college transcripts are required.

SAT Scores:

SAT/ACT: SAT and ACT test scores are not required for admissions purposes. They are, however,required for the Presidential Scholars Program. They are also required for placement into yourEnglish and math classes at FIT.

Other Requirements:

All applicants must select a major. Art and Design Applicants will be sent information regarding portfolio requirements from FIT Admissions.

Transfer Credit Policy

Minimum Grade:

In general, credit may be granted for courses taken at regionally accredited institutions when a grade of at least a C has been earned.

Credits (Min/Max):

Those who have completed college-level liberal arts courses in which a grade of “C” or better has beenachieved will receive credit for coursework equivalent to courses at FIT.

FIT accepts 56.02% transfer applicants, which is competitive. To have a shot at transferring into FIT, you should have a current GPA of at least 3.3 - ideally you're GPA will be around 3.43. In addition, you will need to submit standardized test scores.
