This FFXIV Fashion Report guide explains how to begin participating in the Fashion Report competitions at the Gold Saucer. Participating in these weekly themed competitions can be a great way to earn MGP very quickly, and they're great fun to compare results with other adventurers.

How to Unlock the Fashion Report Mode
Upon visiting the Gold Saucer, you can seek out an NPC named Lewena (located at the coordinates 4.8 Y: 6.1), who gives you a quest called Passion for Fashion. It's an extremely simple quest that sends you to exactly one NPC before finishing and unlocking the Fashion Report mode indefinitely.

You can sit and enjoy the flavor text if you like, or you can head directly over to the NPC named Masked Rose (located at the coordinates X:7.2 Y:7.4), who will complete the quest.
Fashion Report
Masked Rose is the NPC you will speak to for everything related to the Fashion Report challenges from now on.
Each fashion challenge is themed around a specific aesthetic, and your outfit is judged on a scale of 1 to 100. Themes switch every Tuesday at 12:00 a.m. (PST) / 1:00 a.m. (PDT). However, you can only submit an outfit for judging between Friday at 12:00 a.m. (PST) / 1:00 a.m. (PDT) and the following Tuesday at 12:00 a.m. (PST) / 1:00 a.m. (PDT).
This basically gives you a 5-day window each week to participate before the next theme is announced. Within that window, you're given 4 opportunities each week to submit an outfit for judging. Your score can range anywhere between 1 to 100, but if you score over 80, you can win 50,000 MGP. Note that you can only win this much MGP once per week, even if you continuously score over 80.
Simply for participating, you gain 10,000 MGP. Even if your outfit has nothing to do with the theme. A benefit to participating each week, even if you don't win, is the opportunity to unlock Kasumi's boutique for unique prizes.
Note that glamoured gear is judged based on the item that's glamoured over it, i.e. the appearance that it takes on, rather than the underlying gear. During the judging process, all equipped items are bound to you (if they haven't already been).

Community Cheat Sheets
It's not immediately apparent which items will give you an 80 or above score without trial and error. This is why you should rely on one of the best resources in the community. The FFXIV Reddit can be of great help, but community members within that forum are often found reposting cheat sheets made by one dedicated community member by the name of Kaiyoko Star, who can be found posting updated cheat sheets each Friday.
