Find the serial number of your Apple product - Apple Support? ›

On Mac, choose Apple menu  > About This Mac. On iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Vision Pro, or Apple Watch, go to Settings > General > About. If you use the Finder or iTunes to sync your device with your computer, plug your device into your computer, then select your device in the Finder or iTunes.

When you use Apple Support, we will collect the serial number of devices associated with your Apple ID and serial numbers you enter into Check Coverage to provide device-specific service and to confirm your Apple warranty status and eligibility for additional AppleCare coverage.

Go to Settings > General and tap About. Look for the serial number. You might need to scroll down to find the IMEI/MEID, and ICCID. To paste this information into Apple registration or support forms, touch and hold the number to copy.

Find the label

You can find most serial numbers on a label that is usually prominently displayed on the exterior casing of the product. The serial number will be below the bar code (on the label).

Apple Pro Display XDR

You can find the serial number of your Pro Display XDR on the display inset on the back of your display.

There are several possible reasons - for one, if the logic board was replaced, the serial number was changed and, unless the repair guy registered that with Apple, the serial number will not be recognized.
