Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (2024)

Forsaken Story

The Forsaken story campaign, unlike previous campaign stories, is required for an achievement. It can be started by clicking the Forsaken symbol on the bottom of the Tangled Shore map as seen below.

Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (1)

The first quest step is Last Call, where you will join in Cayde and Petra in quelling a prision riot. This mission is a fairly straightforward fight against Fallen, Cabal, and Hive. Later, you are introduced to Scorn enemies if you haven't faced them before.

Once you've completed the quest, visit the Gunsmith to obtain the 'Cayde's Will' exotic quest, then to Ikora and Zavala to unlock the High Plain Blues mission. In High Plain Blues, you will be taken to the middle of nowhere in the Tangled Shore. Simply continue in the direction you were facing at the start of the quest and continue to follow your objective(s). Eventually, you will be given two allies, who are actually Fallen members. They are characterized by a bunch of spikes on their back and will help you as you progress through this mission (so don't shoot them!). These two allies are loyal to Spider, who is a new vendor you'll be introduced to upon completing the mission.

Speak to Petra, then complete the milestone 'Earn Spider's Trust' by completing any 5 Bounties from Spider. Some of his bounties are called "Wanted" bounties, which require you to defeat high-value targets, who are typically the final bosses in public events on the Tangled Shore. These bounties may require Dead Ghosts currency to acquire them, which you can earn by completing patrols, public events, and in various chests around the map.

Once you've completed 5 of the Spiders' bounties, speak to Petra to start the next step in the quest, Scorned. Once completed, speak to Spider and Petra again to unlock six Adventures in Tangled Shore. These can be done in any order:

Target: The Rider
Target: The Trickster
Target: The Mad Bomber
Target: The Hangman
Target: The Mindbender
Target: The Rifleman

After completing these, return to Spider and Petra in The Tangled Shore to be given the next step, which is to complete and kill The Machinist. Only one Baron left now.

Return again to Spider and Petra in The Tangled Shore and complete Nothing Left to Say. During this, you will visit the Dreaming City. If this is your first visit, you will earn:

  • Heart of the Awoken

    Enter the Dreaming City.

Kill the last Baron and progress up the Tower, then kill the final boss. During the cutscene you will progress Cayde's Will and earn:

  • Nothing Left to Say

    Complete the "Shattered Throne" dungeon.

Collections

There are multiple collections badges in the game. You can view them by pressing Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (12), going over to "collections", and looking at the badges in the bottom right-hand corner. Completing one of these badges will earn you:

  • Fashion Statement

    Complete a Collections Badge.

    2 guidesGuide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (14)Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (15)Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (16)Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (17)

While you can earn the achievement from any collection, some are much easier than others. Please note that while each collection has a page for each class, you only need to complete one class's collection page to unlock the achievement.

Below, I will be listing the top 3 easiest collection badges. The first one, which is likely the easiest, would be:

Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (18)Destinations: Red War

This will take at least 600 planetary materials each for Devrim Kay on EDZ (dusklight shards), Sloane on Titan (alkane), Failsafe on Nessus (datalattice) and Asser Mir on Io (phaseglass needle).

Each 60 materials will earn you a level and an engram once from each of these vendors once you turn in the materials (i.e., increase your rep.). At the bottom of each of these vendor's menu, you will see 5 pieces of armor (a helmet, gloves, chest piece, boots, and a cape). In order to gain the Destinations: Red War collection, along with the achievement, must obtain all of these items (5 from each vendor, 20 total items).

If you are lucky, you will get the armor you need (and not a weapon) upon each engram you obtain by increasing your rep level with the vendor. On the other hand, you may get unlucky and obtain a duplicate or a weapon, which does not help you. However, after 10 engrams, you will be able to buy all the armor from the vendors directly. Because of this, you should wait to buy any armor until you've unlocked all 10 rep engrams with each vendor.

The materials can be found on the ground in chests, and by completing patrols or bounties. To speed the gathering process even more, I would recommend using the top-tree Nightstalker hunter, as their enhanced radar displays both chests and materials. Alternatively, if you have a Ghost with the Treasure Hunter perk, it will highlight chests. This will work in any location, or a ghost with an EDZ/Titan/Nessus/Io Scanner. These will highlight materials and chests, but only for their respective planet.

One of the other easier collection badges is:

Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (19)Forged in Fire

This is the Crucible (PvP) Collection. As such, it is easier or harder to obtain depending on how much you enjoy your PvP. As you complete Crucible matches, your Rank will increase up to the top Rank of Legend. Once you hit Legend, you can reset your rank by holding Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (20) when hovering over a gamemode.

There are two PvP types, those that award Valor, and those that award Glory (though earning Glory earns you Valor). Valor will only ever increase in Rank. If you lose Glory matches, you can lose Rank progress down to your current Rank start point. However, for this collection, you only need to worry about Valor.

Each time you rank up, you will earn a piece of armour or weapon from this collection. You earn progress through completing matches, with wins providing more progress, and even better progress in streaks. You also earn progress with some bounties.

As well as progress, you will also be earning tokens. I would advise holding onto these tokens until after you reset your rank the first time. The shaders are earned by dismantling gear that has that shader. The difficult part is the emblem, as it has a high chance to drop when you reset. If it doesn't drop, then it has a chance to drop from engrams earned by turning in tokens.

The third collection badge that I'd consider one of the "easier" ones is:

Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (21)Season

While the image is for the current Season, the sources of the various items has held relatively true for the past few seasons. The ship will be available from a triumph or a season related rank. The shaders are tied to quests from Shaxx, Zavala, and the Drifter. The armour comes from the season pass, as do some of the weapons. The remainder of the weapons come from seasonal activities. One of the exotics comes from the Season pass, and the others come from quests later in the season.

Gambit

Gambit was introduced in Forsaken and is a requirement for the Triumph Seal and an Exotic Quest mentioned below. A detailed description of the Gambit game mode can be found oo the "New Light" page, although it won't take you long at all to win a match. Winning your first Gambit match will earn you:

  • High-Stakes Play

    Win a Gambit match.

Nightfall

Under the "strikes" section in the Destinations menu, go to "Nightfall". The weekly Nightfall Ordeal rotates each week, as do the three standard Nightfalls. If you complete one of the following nightfalls: Warden of Nothing, The Hollowed Lair, or The Corrupted, you will earn:

  • Darkness Falls

    Defeat a Forsaken Nightfall Boss.

Exotics

Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (31)

Unlike the similar achievement in New Light, this achievement can only be earned through Forsaken Exotics. In Forsaken, there are 4 pieces of exotic amour per class, and 11 total weapons.

  • Exotique

Collect 10 Forsaken Exotic weapons or armor.

The sources listed in the New Light achievement will work for the following Exotics:

Titan:

  • One-Eyed Mask
  • Ursa Furiosa
  • Heart of Inmost Light
  • Antaeus Wards

Hunter:

  • Shards of Galanor
  • Oathkeeper
  • The Sixth Coyote
  • Gwisin Vest

Warlock:

  • Contraverse Hold
  • Chromatic Fire
  • Phoenix Protocol
  • Geomag Stabilizers

Weapons:

  • Black Talon
  • Cerberus+1
  • The Queenbreaker
  • Trinity Ghoul
  • Two Tailed Fox
  • Wavesplitter

The One Thousand Voices exotic weapon drops from the last chest in The Last Wish raid.

The Lord of Wolves exotic weapons has a chance to drop when you complete one of Spider's Wanted Bounties.

The Ace of Spades is purchased from the Exotic kiosk.

The remaining 3 weapons are earned through quests. Below are the 3 quest-specific exotics, and the steps on how to complete them.

Chaperone:

  1. Pick up this quest from the Tower.
  2. You will need to reset your Valor once.
  3. 20 kills with shotguns in Crucible.
  4. 20 kills each with Arc, Solar, and Void. You get 5% per kill but lose 1% per death, but once you reach 100% you will not lose percentage again, so focus on one element at a time.
  5. 15 kills against guardians in Gambit. This is easier than it sounds as you can use anything to get the kills.

Malfeasance:

  1. Kill the Ascended Taken Servitor in Gambit. This is a random boss that can spawn instead of the normal Taken boss. Just keep playing Gambit until you kill it.
  2. Return to Drifter.
  3. Kill Taken Bosses in the Dreaming City. Running the Taken Lost Sectors repeatedly is the easiest way to do this.
  4. Complete the mission The Corrupted. I would advise doing this in a fireteam.
  5. Win 10 Gambit matches and deposit 400 motes, if you die and drop motes you will lose progress equivalent to twice the motes you dropped.
  6. Kill 25 guardians in Gambit and either invade and kill 4 guardians in a single invasion, or someone on your team killing the 4 in a single invasion three times.
  7. Return to Drifter.

Wish-Ender:

  1. Progress through the Shattered Throne dungeon and speak to the statue after the Ogre boss.
  2. Finish the dungeon.
  3. Complete the ??? quest in the Tangled Shore, and you will get 3 tokens.
  4. Return to the Shattered Throne. On the roof in the first area, you will find an orb. Take it to the opposite roof and dunk it at the statue with no orb. A Taken boss will spawn, kill it and the one that spawns after it, then this will charge the first token.
  5. The second orb is found on the right side as you enter of the Ogre and beam room. This needs to be taken to near the end, where on the right you will see another statue with no orb. Dunk the orb here (I'd recommend clearing the room first).
  6. In the slow area, go up the first stairs and on the right to find the next orb. You will need to carry this through the slow area and dunk it at the statue on the right immediately after leaving the slow.
  7. The doors opposite will open. Go in here and kill the bosses that spawn on the central platform.
  8. In the Ogre room after you kill the wizards, a Taken minotaur will spawn. Kill him and dunk the orb he drops in the statue with no orb that is along one of the long walls.
  9. A new unshielded Ogre will spawn. Kill it first, then the shielded Ogre.
  10. Speak to the statue.

Completing any one of these quests will earn you:

  • An Exotic Journey

Collect 15 Forsaken Exotic weapons or pieces of armor.

This can only be earned from Forsaken Triumph Seals, one of:

Dredgen
Unbroken
Cursebreaker
Rivensbane

Of these, Dredgen is easiest, and must be earned in Gambit.

Dredgen:

  • High-Value Hawk - Kill a High-Value Target of every species. (Fallen, Vex, Hive, Cabal and Scorn)
  • Light Versus Light - Defeat an invader while their Super is active or as an invader kill someone with their Super active ten times.
  • Gambit for All Seasons - Win a Gambit match against every species.
  • Dark Age Arsenal - Win a Gambit match with a Gambit weapon equipped in every slot. This includes weapons earned from Gambit quests.
  • Prestige - Reset your Infamy rank once.
  • Army of One - Kill four enemy Guardians in a single invasion three times.
  • Half-Banked - Deposit 38 or more Motes in a single round five times.
  • Thrillmonger - Defeat forty enemies in a match without dying three times. Focus on killing, and ignore motes.
  • Protect the Runner - Win a game where someone on your fireteam deposited 75 motes without losing any. This will likely require a full fireteam. Only let one person pick up and deposit motes. Once they have deposited 75, the other three players focus on killing everything, especially invaders.
  • Aim to Misbehave - Acquire Malfeasance. Detailed above.

The achievement will not unlock until you go into the Seal and unlock the title. I would recommend equipping the title to make certain.

Last Wish Raid

  • Wishing for the Best

    Complete the "Last Wish" Raid.

    Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (50)

    1 guideGuide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (51)Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (52)Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (53)

To earn this achievement you must complete the raid The Last Wish. You can run through the entire raid, but that is not required. The Last Wish has a wish wall that allows you to enter wishes (codes). There are 15 total wishes, with only 14 that are currently known. The wishes can change the voiceover, spawn eggs, and teleport you around the raid.

To get to this wall, head into the raid, and rather than going into the doorway for the first boss, look left and you will see a gap in the wall jump out. Around to the right of this gap, you will see a ledge with green plants and white lights land on this. Look up, and you'll see another similar ledge. Keep following these ledges and paths from them, and you will get to the wall.

The way the wall works is if you shoot a circle, it will change symbol from black, through fishes, through snakes, through dragons, and lastly birds, before black again. If you stand on the glowing circle in the floor where your wish is entered, your wish will happen (if it's correct). If the wish you entered is incorrect, the wall is wiped. If you run out of ammo on all weapons, you will have your ammo restored automatically.

The wish for the final boss is below.

Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (54)

When entered, your team will wipe and respawn at the rally point for Riven.

Riven:

There are two methods for killing Riven: the designed way, and the burn method. I will list both here. For both methods, a Titan running Bubble (Code of the Protector) and Warlock running Well (Attunement of Grace) is recommended.

Designed way:

  1. Stand on plates.
  2. Go inside your corresponding auditorium room.
  3. Team A kills the Eye of Riven and cleanses the elevator.
  4. Team B stuns Riven and calls out the glowing eyes.
  5. Team B kills the Eye of Riven and cleanses the elevator.
  6. Team A damages Rivens mouth and shoots the eye called out by Team B.
  7. Both teams move up to the second floor.
  8. Team B kills the Eye of Riven and cleanses the elevator.
  9. Team A stuns Riven and calls out the glowing eyes.
  10. Team A kills the Eye of Riven and cleanses the elevator.
  11. Team B damages Rivens mouth and shoots the eye called out by Team A.
  12. Both teams move up to the third floor.
  13. Phase 1: Stun Riven to identify the eyes 1 and 2.
  14. Phase 2: Stun Riven to identify eyes 3 and 4.
  15. Phase 3. Stun Riven to identify eyes 5 and 6.
  16. Phase 4: Damage Riven in the mouth and shoot the 6 corresponding eyes identified in Phase 1, 2 and 3.
  17. Return to your original plates.
  18. Shoot pimples for additional DPS to Riven.
  19. Repeat steps 2 through 18.
  20. Once Riven has 10% health remaining, the players will be transported to the jumping puzzle.
  21. Complete the jumping puzzle using warlocks to heal players as needed.
  22. Complete DPS on the last 10% of Riven's health.
  23. Go inside Riven's mouth and DPS the heart.

Burn way:

  1. Stand on plates.
  2. All go to crystal room and hug wall. You will see joining allies.
  3. You'll be teleported to the flag room. Listen, and you'll hear Riven bang either left or right. Go in the direction of the noise.
  4. Drop down until you reach the very bottom level, then kill the Taken in this room.
  5. Riven will appear.
  6. Put down the Well and Bubble, then wail on Riven with the current weapon meta. At the moment this is swords, so drop Well and Bubble on Riven's right foot and burn Riven down to 10%.
  7. You will be transported into the jumping puzzle.
  8. Once complete, shoot Riven's mouth to get the last 10%.
  9. Go inside Riven's mouth and shoot the heart.

Queenswalk:

First, I will describe the path, and then the mechanics of this encounter.

Take the orb and go up the throat and out of the mouth. Next, take the corridor on the left at the end of the room, then take the corridor at the left at the end of the next room. Continue to the right over the broken floor, then take the right corridor, and then left.

At this point, there is one of two paths: one to the right, or one to the left. One will be open, and the other will be blocked. Take the open way and follow the corridors until you get to a room with a hole in the floor. Drop down the hole, then go up the stairs and dunk the orb here. Sounds easy, except one person can't take it the whole way. Furthermore, you can't sprint while carrying the heart, and there are a ton of enemies in the way.

When the heart is picked up, it extends a field. If you are outside of the field, you get a stacking debuff that can kill you if it gets too high. This field shrinks over 15 seconds, and only the person holding the heart can see the timer for this (so they need to count down for everyone else). Once the field gets down to 3 seconds, everyone should move outside of the field. Anyone inside of the field gets transported into the heart with the person holding the heart and has to fight enemies.

So, the first person chosen takes the heart and should drop it on the tongue. A new person is chosen, and they continue along the path. The first person transported will see a Taken Orb. When the new person gets to 3 seconds, the first person jumps through the Orb, and the timer is extended. It can only be extended once per person. When the second person gets down to 3 seconds again, everyone backs away, then they'll be transported, and a third is chosen.

Now there will be two Orbs. The first pereson stands by his Orb waiting for the 3 seeconds. The second person jumps through the other Orb as soon as they see it. This continues until the heart is dunked at the end of the path. Everyone will be spawned by the heart. If they then turn around, they can loot a ches. It's one chest per person per key, and you'll get a key for killing Riven.

Triumphs

Every activity and most actions in the game will earn you progress for Triumph points. Because of this, I left this achievement last because by this point in the game you should have well over the 5000 points needed to unlock:

  • Legends Grow

    Earn 5,000 Triumph points.

    Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (55)

    1 guideGuide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (56)Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (57)Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (58)Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (59)Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (60)

For any Triumph progress you earn, you must go into the Triumph page (Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (61), and then "Triumphs") and select to confirm your points by pressing Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (62) on whatever triumphs you've completed, which will be glowing green. You can also see the progress you have towards incomplete Triumphs.

If you are still short at this point, there are a few easy points you can earn. The easiest option, while tedious, is the class grenades and Supers. Each subclass and subclass option has Triumphs tied to them, which you will find under Account. They should come naturally, but a good place to grind them is in the Last Wish. If you enter this wish:

Guide for Destiny 2 - Forsaken (63)

You will be teleported before one of the bosses. This boss has a load of Taken thrall before her fight. Simply approach the door in front of you, move out of the way once it starts opening, and the boss will launch an attack then back away. This is when a load of Taken will attack. Simply use your grenades and/or Supers to destroy these in the manner you need. You have about 2 minutes to kill as much as you can before you wipe and start it again. You will be able to make quick progress in your triumphs this way.
