Gyro Zeppeli is one of the primary protagonists ofJoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run,where he races for his country with further hopes of saving someone.

Appearance[]

Gyro is a man of above average height with long blond hair and green eyes. He has green lipstick and is almost always seen with his wide hat, which he has goggles on. His teeth have golden grills that say "GO GO ZEPPELI!" on them. He wears equestrian riding boots and long tan pants with a belt on top. The green belt buckle has two hands pointing downwards which help with spin. He wears a purple short sleeve shirt with lots of green dots adorning it all around it. His steel ball holders go all the way to his back, resembling a flowing brown cape when he is riding his horse. His arms have black "rings" around the upper muscle and he wears purple wristbands that go down to his hands on the bottom.

History[]

Gyro Zeppeli was born to the Zeppeli family in Naples, where the oldest child of the family would become an executioner for the king. Eventually, Gyro was old enough to become the executioner, where he learned of the spin so that the execution could be painless. he later learned he was supposed to execute a child named Marco. Gyro later joined the Steel Ball Run race so that he could get amnesty for Marco to save his life. He was considered one of the best racers in the entire race as he was considered a winner contender by many people watching the race. This came to an end however when he fought Funny Valentine, which led to his death in his home universe do to fatal wounds received in the fight, however Marco did get the amnesty that Gyro raced hard for in the Steel Ball Run.

Personality[]

Gyro seems like a gruff, rude executioner on the outside when first meeting him, however he turns out to be a rude, loud jerk underneath. He is known to enjoy comedy, although his jokes are less than impressive do to the Cultural Gap. He is however a very caring person, as seen when he enters the Steel Ball Run to save the life of a single child, risking his own life in the process. He tends to yell to get his point across, although most of the time he is soft spoken.

Abilities[]

• Steel Balls:Gyro uses the spin technique channeled through the steel balls of his family. Being hit by a steel ball causes the enemy to rapidly spin into themselves that hurts extremely. The spin can also be used to ease pain and is incredibly accurate. Even without using the spin, the steel balls are crushing upon impact, easily breaking bones.
• Horse Jockey: Gyro is an incredibly good horse jockey, as seen by the fact he competed in the Steel Ball Run, something that most novice jockeys couldn't even survive. He is seen to be able to connect on a personal level to horses, helping him ride even better in races.
• Scan:Using the eye of the Holy Corpse, Gyro gains the ability of scan, which gives his steel balls eyes which say TURBO on them in all capital letters. The scan's ability lets Gyro see weak points in his enemy so that he can make the steel balls hit enemies in those specific areas.
• Ball Breaker:Ball Breaker is the stand of Gyro, through which he can summon by using the golden rotation of the spin. Ball Breaker is an extremely fast stand that can break through dimensional barriers and hit enemies with the steel balls. Upon being hit by steel balls with golden rotation makes the enemy age extremely rapidly untilthey become old.

Trivia[]

• Gyro Zeppeli was actually the winner of the Starcrossing Steel Ball Run because of the alternate universe Diego Brando being killed.
• Gyro's Scan ability was lost because of Funny Valentine stealing the corpse in Starcrossing after Gyro gave the real Diego Brando both corpse eyes.
• The Steel balls are actually not made of steel despite what their name says, as they are actually made of iron.
• Gyro is a reference to the older JoJo character Caesar Zeppeli, hence his name Julius Caesar Zeppeli.
