To become a fashion stylist, you'll need to have a good eye for fashion, an understanding of the fashion industry, knowledge of current trends, an understanding of different body types, and the ability to combine colors, fabrics, and styles in attractive ways. You'll also need to be creative, organized, reliable, and have excellent communication skills. Depending on the field you're interested in, you may also need formal training or a college degree in fashion design, styling, or merchandising. Additionally, many stylists gain experience through internships or apprenticeships.
