Therefore families can save at least $150 per child on back-to-school clothes!If these savings are applied over a 12-year career, each child could save $1800! These savings are more than enough to help students prepare for college expenses, when money is tight due to rising tuition costs.

The evidence is clear. In these difficult economic times, school uniforms cost less than traditional back-to-school fashion items.

This statement should not be confused with saying that school uniforms are inexpensive. However, families can save money by not purchasing pricey "status symbol" fashions year after year. Uniforms are always in style and are usually more durable because they are reinforced at stress points. Also many uniform companies include features (generous hems, movable buttons, adjustable waists) in their clothing which allow them to be adapted as a child grows -- this equates to even more savings!
