Contour is a wonderful makeup method which can enhance your beautiful features and bone structure. Confidently contour your face every time with our tips on how to choose the right shade for your skin tone.
FINDING YOUR UNDERTONE:
When contouring, we want to choose shades that imitate the realistic shadows of your face. Select a contour shade 2-3 shades darker to sculpt your features with a similar undertone as your skin. The easiest way to find out whether it is cool, warm, or neutral, is to look at your wrist veins under natural light.
- If your veins appear green, you have warm undertones.
- If your veins appear blue or purple, you have cool undertones.
- If your veins are a mix of both, you have neutral undertones.
If you struggle to find the perfect shade, we recommend getting a CONTOUR PALETTE with multiple options. You can mix the shades and customise the perfect colour. Having a palette with more options will also be beneficial, as you will not need to repurchase another product if your complexion naturally changes with the seasons.
FOR FAIR-TO-MEDIUM SKIN TONES:

FOR TAN AND OLIVE SKIN TONES:

FOR DARK SKIN TONES:

CREAMS VS POWDER:
How should you choose between the two? Both do the same job but provide different benefits and finishes.
Powder contours are best for everyday wear and makeup beginners. This option is perfect if do not have the time or the patience to blend or layer cream products. Powders also tend to be buildable, so you can easily create your desired intensity. If you have oily skin, we recommend using powders as they tend to soak up any oil throughout the day and give more of a matte finish.
Cream contour is your go to if you want a deeper and longer lasting contour. If you have extra time up your sleeve to blend creams, go for it! Do you already have a contour palette? Great! But the wonderful thing about cream contour is that you can use several products already in your kit to give the same desired effect. Try using deeper shades of foundations, concealers and even LIPSTICKS to chisel those cheeks! If you have dry skin, we recommend using creams as it helps with moisture and gives a more luminous finish.
TIP: If you want your contour to be bolder and more visible in photos, try both! Layering both the cream and powder products will further intensify your contour game!
