As for your pre-owned bag, you’re definitely right that the indents on the leather flap is less visible when it becomes a little worn out. I have a small and medium “SHOPPING” bag, and I noticed that the small version (which is older than my medium one) had a more prominent and visible indentation than the medium. All this to say, if you can feel the indentation, that’s confirmation it’s authentic!

    I agree, this was extremely helpful! I recently bought a pre-owned Longchamp bag and I think it is one of the older smaller versions because it reads: LES PLIAGES LONGCHAMP – TYPE “S”
    MODÈLE DÉPOSÉ – MADE IN FRANCE. However, my concern is that I did not find a tag inside the bag that states where it was made and any other information to confirm that it is a authentic bag. Everything else that I have checked so far assures me that this bag is authentic in terms of the zipper, plastic snaps, flat handles, and since my bag is the dark blue/navy color, the interior is black… I am just having second thoughts as to if this bag is authentic, fake or just an older model. The front flap has the logo and also a line underneath it that looks clean and detailed unlike the emboss logo on fake Longchamps, but underneath the flap, the leather is smooth and a pretty dark tan color that has no emboss on the inside reverse flap. The snap underneath the flap has ORIGINAL (6/4B?) PRYM on the button but that’s it – could it be the bag has been used so much that the emboss has somehow faded? I would really appreciate any help and answers! Thank you in advance and also for this terrific guide!

      Hi I think it’s an old model because mine is the same no inside tag then everything else is same as what the description here. I bought it in longchamp marina bay sands branch. Guess it’s the old model?

    I am thrilled to say that I too have what I am now sure is a real Longchamp. Mine is the small shopping version and the guide, which is absolutely excellent, indicates that it IS the real thing in every detail. Like the previous person I was a bit suspicious that the indent on the underside of the flap was not more prominent, but you can feel the indentation. The confirmation that this qualifies it as authentic has nailed it for me. I got it in a charity shop for a £1!!

  It did not specify a size but it has arrived today and it turns out it is the large tote! This started to raise alarm bells as whether this bag is authentic or not…After looking at all of your advise and the bag the only issue is that the outside stitching does not match the color of the bag. I did not get that good of a deal on the bag so if it is a fake I would rather return it.

This is a very informative page, thanks for posting this! I was given a Le Pliage bag last year and thought it was authentic until the zipper pulls started to tarnish all over. It all got the authentic characteristics written above, even the tag codes are correct and YKK on the zipper is there. But when I looked closely on the zipper pull, it says ‘LONCCHAMP’ even the snaps on the leather flap says the same. This is so odd and is now wondering if I have an authentic bag 🙁

Hi Susan, thanks for the great tips. I’m verifying that my tote is authentic. Mine has no visible accent marks on the e’s. I think that it may have to do with the fact that the stitching covered it due to positioning. All the other check marks are there on the bag. The accents are the only thing missing. Any advice?

  The accent marks are really hard to see but it is not hidden by the stitching. It doesn’t help that the the diagonal lines are running across either! But rest assured it is probably there (if you say that all the other indications of a real longchamp are present). Try looking with a magnifying glass!

  I’m not sure where you are from but I know most of the Longchamp Pliage bags in the States and Canada are Made in China. The ones made in France are typically distributed in Europe.
  But in terms of quality, they’re all the same, so you can’t tell that they are made in China except for the white tag inside the bag that says Made in China. Any luxury brand has quality control over their products!

The gold snap button on the front.. isn’t always super upright. The one I have is up right, but some of my other ones are at an angle. So just because it isn’t straight doesn’t mean it’s fake. Great Site. Tried to find info about the purse I picked up at a thrift store. I haven’t seen one like it. If I send you pictures, could you tell if it’s real. Not too familiar with Longchamp. What leads me to believe it’s real, even though it was in a thrift store, I also found some other high end clothes and a pair of Mezlan shoes that I assume came from same person. It is older purse, but new with tags. A striped canvas, more like a burlap. The card inside says Sophie, so I guess that is the name of the bag. Thanks

Have you ever seen a light blue, exclusive “Air France” version with black leather? I am looking at a used one that does not match any of your color codes, and the leather has no diagonal markings. The logo has a line under it, so it would be an older version.

  Yes you can assume that your bag is real if all the details match whether or not you have the care card. I find the care card is trivial because it’s too easy to copy. And for those people who bye preowned bags, most of them probably don’t have a care card. At the end of the day, you’re wearing the purse and not the card. Loll.   Hi. A small short handle tote starts with 1621089, the 3 numbers following that is the color code . Check on the pliage color code table. I don’t know if “Mandarin” is “Tangerine: but if its one of these ones like “022” “450” “477” or “217” then its ok

I have purchased 6 totes (diff sizes, diff colors- one of them being the planetes) from the Longchamp boutique on Madison Avenue here in NYC. I found the praline backpack online and find myself a bit skeptical. A backpack for 50% less than what I can expect to pay here is tempting, but I worry not only about the authenticity, but the security of these websites. Any recommendations? Hi, I recently bought a bag size L, every detail you posted matched my bag, the tag, stitching, hole for the lock, plastic around snaps on the inside etc. except the 45 on the zipper, instead it is written 5No or 5N0 or SN0, whichever of these combinations it is hard to read. I am guessing it is still authentic, can you confirm?

  Well darkers colors usually have black lining while bright or light colors have white lining. There are a few with beige lining as well. But yes it would be fake if black had a white interior, for example. Check the table! I too a lot of time to research that!

  No the Large and XL do not come in long handles. There are only 2 sizes for the long handle totes. The larger of the the two, comes closest to the size of the short handle medium. Though, if you manage to find the old “medium long handle tote”…the size of the bag is bigger! But they’re hard to come by!

I do have a question though; My bag is presumably an older model(due to the zipper pull reading Made in Paris, Made in France), handed down to me by my cousin several years ago.(Perhaps at least 8 years ago) I was just wondering if, regardless of if it’s an older model or newer model, the bag should come with a plastic tab on the inside? Pretty much, every other detail looks good, but that tab is missing. Also my bag does not have the indentation on the other side, but I read that the older models do not have the indentation. Hello! First of all, many thanks for writing this amazing guide to spotting fakes – it’s proved essential these days, as I have been buying some new and second hand totes from eBay. And while I’ve gotten a few good apples, I’m afraid I just received 2 rotten ones 🙁 The bags have several good things going for them – the zippers seem the real deal, there’s that plastic disc behind the button closure, the stitching seems the right color… BUT… but… I’m having problems with the LE PLIAGE “SHOPPING” – MODELE DEPOSE part. I’m comparing the embossing from one of the bags I know to be genuine (which is boldly embossed, where you can read the writing very clearly, and all the letters are evenly spaced and exactly the same size) with the embossing of the 2 funny ones – and there’s a problem, I think. For one, the embossing is a bit “lighter”, less “imprinted” into the leather. Is that a bad sign? Also, while there are accents in all the right places, the word DEPOSE bugs me – there is a little too much space between the P and the O, and the OSE part of the word seems to be slightly smaller and a bit askew. In the one I know is real, the O is big, round, fat even, and sits nicely between the P and the S… but in these, there’s that odd spacing. Do you need pictures to see this better, or is this enough of a sign that I got fakes? A million thanks!

Hi! I recently got a Longchamp from Nordstrom so I’m quite sure it’s authentic. I’ve had it for a few months and have recently noticed that the bottom side seam is split. I’m pretty upset considering that this is an expensive bag. Have you ever heard of any Longchamp’s being defective. And do you know if anyone repairs them? I really love my bag and am disappointed. I just ordered a medium short handle (my other one is a large shopping) and maybe wouldn’t have purchased it if I had known the quality wasn’t going to be that great.

  Hi Erin, I haven’t heard of any bag splitting like that. What does happen often (it happened to mine) is:
  “Bottom corners: A common occurrence in used totes, both the Les Pliage and Les Planetes models are tiny wear holes on the bottom four corners of the totes. These holes are caused from wear when the totes are filled and/or are used to carry heavier items such as books.”
  Sorry this happened to you, maybe if you still had the bill, you can talk to Nordstrom customer service. You might have gotten a really defective one. (OR worse, someone bought a real one and returned it with a fake one)
  I’ve abused my bag quite badly by putting heavy things like heavy textbooks and my laptop at the same time, almost on a daily basis, and its still good after 3 years!

Hi, I just bought a longchamp from a seller who used to collect longchamp bags and decided to sell them. I am guessing i got a older versions?… everything passed the authentic test you posted except for the handles, the handles on these were firm, uniform, and sort of round… the tag inside the bag said it was made in china and the code was consistent with the code you have put on for the older verson medium. The handles are kinda ticking me off though…. is it possible that the older versions have firmer handles?

I recently acquired a maroon le pliage (maroon says its seller) everything matched your description only I couldn’t find the maroon color in ur code list, the lining is black and the last 3digits is 545 (in ur code it is red), do u think its authentic? Your guide has been super helpful but I’d like you to personally take a look at a green Le Pliage I bought online. Everything, from the flap, stamp, handle, stitching, zipper, buttons all seem legit, but when I looked at the code (1899089645) it’s for the shade Bilberry. And the shade of green itself doesn’t seem to match any of the colors, the closest is Loden. The nylon as well also looks a bit shiny, the plastic tag was hard, see through plastic and the care card looked a little cheap. I’ll send you an email with the photos. I really need your feedback. I just bought a le pliage from an online store and I compared with the existing bag that I bought in air port. I found out that there is small gap between the zipper that attached to the ground of the bag zipper. Which make that part looks like c. While the one I bought from air port is tightly sealed. Any guide for this ? 🙁

I was really glad to find all of this info on Longchamp Les Pliage. Just got into Longchamp after a recent trip to Paris. Found I really like the Medium handheld, bought one there and just needed more as soon as I returned home. Found an excellent condition navy blue bag on eBay from a seller with great feedback. It seems it is an older model, based on your info, and everything seems spot-on, EXCEPT there is NO inside tag. None what-so-ever. And, I am not 100% convinced of the stamping authenticity. It seems a little flat? Not as embossed as the older version you have shown, certainly way less embossed than the one I bought in Paris. Also I can only find 2 accent marks over the E’s. It is admittedly hard to see if there is a 3rd or not. Is this fishy? Or is due to the fact it is an older bag? It is the France/Paris zipper pull, with “Les Pliages Longchamp Type “M”” on the back. Appreciate any knowledge/feedback in advance.

Hi Susan! I was checking on your website and it’s quite impressive how you managed to spot all the differences between the fake and the authentic one. I bought a le pliage online as well. 2 actually and same as Carmel’s situation, I’m quite confused. The other one I bought looked like teal to me, and the code matched the one on your table. But the other one I bought was sort of royal blue. the color matched with the indigo but the code isn’t the same. The code was for the bilberry one. But everything else seemed legit. I’m confused. Hi! All those mentioned matched my bag, as in everything! The only problem is the product code. The color doesn’t match the last 3-digit code. The bag is graphite but the code is 1899089001. And it seems authentic when it comes to workmanship; I had it for 2 years and been using it almost everyday, but the bag is still intact — very sturdy indeed! Help!

  The hole is only on the short handled large and exrta large ones. Your “large” long handle tote is comparable to the size of a medium (in the short handle version). But because there are only two sizes in the long handle version, you call it “large” but it’s actually like a medium size. I hope that makes sense

Hi. MJQ Enterprises just sold several Le Pliage thru Metrodeal online. Some buyers in Manila have started to receive their bags and have declared it to be fake ones. I have yet to receive mine. One said that the indent of the jockey on the backside of the flap is not there but everything else checks out. Could it be possible that the ones Made in China with the more recent models do not have the indent anymore? I am starting to have doubts though I have yet to see for myself once I receive mine. One of the lines from the blogger who wrote to LongChamp directly kept ringing in my ears…the part where LongChamp replied “We do not recommend shopping at retailers that are not authorized to sell LongChamp……” Well, we shall see! I will definitely check back on your site once I receive my LC. Many thanks!

I just bought my first ever Longchamp Maroquinerie Gold. And I am having doubts about it’s authenticity but all specifications indicated in your blog matches my longchamp. However, I am quite doubtful with the flap, its backside doesn’t have indent of the jockey. And the zipper pull indicates “Longchamp 1948” on both sides. Also, the back hot stamped indicates “Longchamp Modele Depose” with its correct stresses. And also, is the thing inside the bag a plastic transparent one? Can you please help me with the code of it? I have a question…Do you know if the “super old” longchamp les pliage shopping bags (the ones that have “France” on one side of the pull and “Paris” on the other, not ykk zipper, but has the 45 on it) have the plastic clear tags inside? I found a les pliage shopping bag that has everything you described to be authentic from the zippers, to the size, to the leather, the stitching, to the handles, etc….the only thing is that there are no clear tags.   Hi Dess the link you provided sells fakes. It’s obvious even in the pictures. Your best bet is to try ebay. The listing should have a lot of detailed pictures. If you come across one, I can authenticate it. But steer clear from “outlet” sites, some might show a picture of a real one but they might send one that is fake!

Hi Susan, my Le Pliage finally arrived from EJQ/ Metrodeal and everything checks out. The indent on the logo on the backside is there although not as prominent but you did mention that it is so in the type M and L, right? My question is this: should the stitching be perfect? I ordered for the classic red and the red stitching on the nylon doubled up on the corner of the pocket. This is just right below the flap on the outside. Also the white stitching inside doubles up also in some parts. Is the quality control not up to par?

  the stitching does double up on corners and in some other areas because those areas can have a lot of strain if you carry a lot of weight. So that’s normal

I just bought myself a Le Pliage tote from the Longchamp store in Sydney and I’m pretty confident that everything is authentic because they’re pretty much the only places that stock Longchamp bags here in Sydney (thanks Australia for overpricing everything because of the cost to ship goods here). Besides everything looks fine and matches your guide. Only minor issue I have is that there’s no tag inside that indicates where the bag is made in. Honestly not too fussed about it because in this day and age almost everything is made in China thanks to globalisation and all. I just wanted to know out of curiosity. I was at my local Goodwill last week and picked up an AUTHENTIC Type “S” short handle tote for $3 and it’s in brand new condition.   You’re right there are a lot of quality fakes out there. But there is always something off visually (I can see if it’s real leather but it’s obviously easier to smell and touch leather to confirm if it is). The Longchamp Pliage has been around for 20 years and it is a fairly simple design. Let’s be real here. People who manufacture fakes can afford to buy a Pliage to examine the details closely. It is relatively easy to SEE the differences, but to manufacture it with the same specific details is another story. I’m sure these manufacturers of fake bags have had years of experience in perfecting a fake version. But the problem is fake manufacturers can’t afford to stitch it as nicely, or get the right shade and finishing of leather, or use the right nylon with a lining and buttons, because it then becomes time-consuming and expensive. So the point is to get the details as close as they can and profit off people who won’t know what the details are.
  But let’s get something straight here. The quality of the Pliage has declined. Trust me. Even within the past few years. I compare my Pliage from 3 years ago with the ones made today, and the quality – mainly the leather just isn’t the same. The demand for the Pliage is HUGE and they need to supply these demands FAST. That’s why Longchamp is selling them cheaper – the Pliage bags are oversaturating this world lol! So too many people already have a Longchamp and if the price is reasonably low, people would have the tendency to buy a real one in stores.

  I never recommend people to buy off those “Longchamp outlet” sites, because they use stock photos of real ones and they could easily send you a fake one. But I’ve looked at thousands of Pliage bags, and yes even the really good ones…have something off just by looking at it…to me at least. That’s why I have an email where people can send me photos. I try my best to authenticate them asap but there’s just so many it takes a while!

    My first tell-tale sign is the stitching. Manufacturers of fakes and knock offs almost always fail on the quality of stitching. That’s how I spot fakes from a few feet distance.

  Or you can tell the salesperson to give you a Made in France regular Le Pliage. They know which is which by the code written on the yellow sticker on the plastic where the bag is kept. AA for France, AE for China.

Hi Susan, got my new le pliage tote bag in medium size.. got confused for the “depose” wherein the first s accent doesn’t pointed up. Same on the color code, it states 1623089271, based on your color code “271” intended for citrine while mine is kinda old rose /pink shade..i dunno if its a new color shade but the fact that 271 is for citrine, that got me more confused.

Thank you for this helpful site with so many clear images. I received a Le Pliage Longchamp Type “L” bag from a generous student years ago. The details are all checking out as authentic expect the clear inner tag. Here are the numbers on the tag: 0632533 NAC RUC/ 02 1624089840. The color is bright blue with a white interior. The clear tag also does not have a “made in X” location listed although the hot stamped words say MADE IN FRANCE. Do you think it’s authentic? Also, the bag sat in a cold closet in my home for many years. While it is has never been used it now has pox-looking bubbles in many places. Have you ever heard of Longchamp fabric poxing? I am happy to send photos if need be.

Just wanted to ad that i just purchased a very good fake online today. Price was too good to be true but seller insisted it was 100% authentic from the USA.
What is scary with this bag is that everything see,ed to check out at first but wheny ou compare to a bag that you know is authentic, the “defects” start showing up. This bag had all the right hardware (ykk zipper with markings, plastic snap protector, original prym buttons, model codes, colored stitchings, rounded leather end tabs, leather pattern markings, etc..) But once you feel the material, it is obvious that the naylon material used is thinner/flimsier, quite shiny and the color of the leather seems to have been painted/lacquerd on insteD of having been tanned. I would also like to add that the leather is quite stiff and thick as compared to the genuine russian leather used by longchamp. Lastly, the dimensions are off a full inch (depth and height) . The differences are quite subtle rally and i can only i,agine if you did not have a real one to compare it would be almost impossible to tell. So buyer be warned!

Hi Susan, thank you for your very informative and indeed helpful blog in identifying the authenticity of the Longchamp Bag! I recently bought my second longchamp Bag online, and this time is Medium Shopping Bag. There are few things that is not to my liking, which could mean its fake, until proven not. I am not using it yet,in case it is indeed fake and i cannot return it to the owner of the merchandise. Firstly, the letter G on the “LONGCHAMP” lettering on the pull zipper indeed appeared as G and not C, Secondly the year 1948 ,the number 9 is not as per the old font and thirdly the color code does not match the actual code. I bought Burgundy color but the code is 219, which is Grape color. This bag is made in China, could there be a different in the code color for different country. Worst still could my bag be a fake? Please help and Many many thanks for your time and good heart in responding to mine and other on this. Cheers:))

I just bought a LC on ebay. The seller said it’s 100% Authentic and upon checking all your guidelines it does seem real. However, the handles were wrapped in plastic when it came. Is that a red flag? Also, she claimed it’s red but when it came, it’s grape (219, according to the tag). So I told her and she said it’s actually wine red. Is that another term for grape? I think you mean that it’s 18.5 inches lying flat? I mean, the bag itself will be less wide than the measurement between the zipper pulls, right? It seems to be for all the other models. 🙂

Hi Susan – You’re website is great reference tool! I could use some help with authenticating. I recently received a pre-owned Longchamp small nylon bag. It’s gunmetal in color and the leather is the same color. Handles are flat, zipper has Ykk and 45, snap is reinforced, logo is raised on flat (but no line underneath) and you can feel the indentation inside. On the back of the flap, it reads LONGCHAMP with MODELE DEPOSE (with accent marks though barely visible) underneath between the stitches. There’s a clear plastic label inside that has the following: NAC CBC C2 (1st line) Longchamp Paris (2nd line) Made in Tunisia (3rd line) 0762240 (4th line) 2605002196 (5th line). The things I’m questioning are – leather flap is smooth not diamond pattern, and the back of the flap does not state the style. Thanks for your help!

  Lining for light colored bags is white, for dark colored it is black. Gun metal is dark colored, it’s lining should be black. I know, I bought my gun metal le pliage in Long Champ Store.

    If lining is white or beige for gun metal, probably fake. They are pretty consistent, strictly consistent, with lining colors.

  Only certain boutiques in Asia carries stock that are made in China.

Hi,
I just bought a le pliage bag and everything checks out from the flat straps, size, stitching, inner lining colour, inside tag and appropriate code, zipper ’45’ and ‘ykk’ markings, zipper pull detailing, plastic snap reinforcements. The only thing that is a little suspect is the missing accents on e’s. She said she received it as a gift from her friend who bought it in Spain. Do you know if it is a must to have the accents on the e’s?

I purchased a bag at a consignment store the measurements match up to the XL bag with short handle, black flap and handles. I have searched all over the internet for another one like it but have not been able to find one. Now I’m not sure if its authentic. It passes all the tests except for the – inside of snap has black reinforcement vs clear disc and the clear tag inside only says “Made in China PO #16161. Was there ever a bag like this made?         Thanks Susan. I had cancelled the order for the black Miaou and was able to get the navy blue one. My concern now is at the back of the flap , where it usually says the type of tote it is, the Miaou bag that I got only says:

        LONGCHAMP
        MODELE DEPOSE

        and it was accented correctly. All the other details checked out ok. Should I return it?

Hello Susan Well I have just purchased via e.bay a Black Leather Roseau single handle shoulder bag with toggle !!! I am not 100% convinced this is genuine ….it has very smooth stiff almost hard shiny leather it does have the zip pulls marked with the 4 5 .It has the round Longchamp ring pull on zip and the small Longchamp zip pull on the inner zip with 4 5 on the shank ….The Toggle is a soft gold ..the lining is plain black …the oval Longchamp embossed stamp looks as if it’s stitched to the front with black stitching Imaculately stitch .The gold stud that holds the adjustable strap is stamped Longchamp Paris .The material does not smell of leather but does have a knap like backing the pattern if any on the material is fairly smooth wavy lines not blobs or bubbles !!! In the cedar colour range they also do a white interior not just beige as indicated in your chart.
I t was purchsed from Harrods so not worrying about it being a fake! just simply wanted to add the colour to your list. Thank you for your useful information.

Hi Susan! I just got my Le Pliage neo medium short handle and purchased it from Lazada. All the things that was mentioned above was evident in the bag except for the metal flap is upside down. The 1948 was at the upper side of the flap while the longchamp is at the bottom. I’m gonna send you pictures in your email. Hope you can help me authenticate mine. Thank you!

  IMHO, the upside down metal hardware is a tell-tale sign of knock offs. Longchamp strictly follow quality control. That would not pass their QC.

Hello! I found an older Longchamp purse, in excellent condition. The plastic tag has MADE IN FRANCE on it, and the leather tag has 548068 6CJR stamped on one side ( in ink).The other side has LONGCHAMP 1946 with the horse/jockey above it – both are within an oval ( it looks as if it is embossed on there -raised). The zipper pull has Longchamp with the horse in a circle and a very small 45 on the zipper. I haven’t seen these numbers mentioned anywhere…Is it that this is an older purse, or a fake? Hi I’m hoping that someone can help me figure out if this bag is real or not. The zipper the plastic doc on the button seem fine but the wording on the flap doesn’t say much and the accents are not there. It simply says longchamp modele depose in fat letters. I have a question. I own a longchamp neo le pliage in black. I have checked if it is authentic or not, all details in and on the bag are legit and authentic. But after using it for 3 months, I noticed that the leather handles turned to blue. I tried to clean it with a wet cloth and a cotton buds with alcohol. But nothing changed. Please help me i do not know what to do with it.

I just bought a le Pliage Planetes from Poshmark. This bag has all the authenic features described in the article, except that the front logo is inverted. You said in the article under one of the fake features that the logo can be inverted. Do you mean the fakes ones could have inverted logos, or it’s ok for real ones to have inverted logos? This bag I have looks pretty real, so I’m curious. Thanks for any help.

  Excuse me, I meant the front snap button, not the logo. If the logo is inverted, then it’s definitely a fake lol. I got my bag authenticated at the purse forum. He also said that because my bag is an older version, I don’t have a tag, which may be the case with your bag as well, Josie.

FYI although this guide may have been helpful at the time of posting 4 years ago, I don’t think it is applicable now in its entirety since counterfeiters have learned to produce very good copies of Longchamp bags. The best way to know is through clear photos or in-person inspection, not through descriptions of the zipper, labels, numbers, etc. One has to have owned or looked closely at many bags in a long time, say a year, to be able to tell. Those who haven’t owned a real one might have a hard time telling a fake as they don’t know the quality of the real one. (Counterfeiters have managed to learn how the serial numbers are written on the tags, one of the many reason is due to public guides such as this — no offense to the author whom I believe just wanted to help) so seeing the correct model number on the tag DOES NOT GUARANTEE you have an authentic Longchamp. I suggest that one should buy only from authorized resellers such as Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Longchamp boutiques, Harrod’s, Selfridges, Rustan’s Department Store in the Philippines, Takashimaya (Japan and Singapore). One red flag is if a seller is selling hundreds of the nylon or neo longchamp bags at 50-80 % off all year round… what kind of seller can afford to lose money. Also, paperbags, plastic packaging, stickers have already been counterfeited. They DO NOT guarantee that your bag is real. Receipts CAN BE FAKED and real receipts can be photocopied. Real receipts and tags, stickers can be transferred to a fake bag. All you need to prove if the bag is fake or not is the bag itself (and all its components). I hope this helps! Good luck.

hi susan, recently bought a longchamp le pliage backpack and upon checking, it matches all your detailed descriptions. it is in fact authentic, but i read somewhere that le pliages nowadays are made in china, but my bag says made in france. the top handles are flat and stiff, then i went to the shops and theyre selling made in china ones and the top handle is flat and stiff but not as stiff as the one that i have which is made in france. im not sure whether there are made in france le pliage backpacks around. please help.

Hi. I purchased a bag from Ebay a few weeks ago. It is the older model le Pliage DRAWSTRING BACKPACK. The exterior color is a Kiwi or Moss, but the INTERIOR COLOR IS NOT WHITE. It is a light brown. Not sure if the logo indentation can be felt. The bag is brand new although perhaps just never used (listed as pre-owned). Is this just a good replica?

Thank you for this! I recently purchased a La Pliage Shopping in Bilberry to replace my fiancee’s old one. I bought it on ebay and when she opened it, she immediately thought it was fake. It passed all your criteria above, except the handle was about 4cm longer and the color was slightly darker. After some thought we realized that the leather handle of the bag stretches considerably over time and of course the color fades a bit from sun. Especially if the bag is used for 8 years and to travel a lot carrying many things inside. So this is another thing to consider for those of you buying new bags, the handle might be much shorter in a new bag than in one that has been used considerably!

This post was great! Unfortunately it revealed that my lonCchamp bag is fake – no question about it. I picked it up from an op shop for $1 thinking ‘what a bargain for such an expensive bag!’ It didn’t cross my mind that it was fake, but I was suspicious that such an expensive bag wouldn’t have a lining. So I googled it and found this. Oh well, at least I didn’t pay full price for it! I’ll just pretend I don’t know it’s fake…

Hi can you post guides on some variants like Neo? It doesn’t apply too much with this because the Neo design is different. The leather part is the same color as the whole body the stitches are different as well. There are other variants which are leather. They are totally different as well. Also are all the leather part diagonal? I’ve see in malls some are not diagonal anymore. I’m confused.
