Hypnos' Cabin (2024)

The Hypnos Cabin (Cabin 15) is the cabin that houses the children/legacies of Hypnos/Somnus, Greco-Roman God of Sleep and Memories.

Claiming & Cabin[]

Claiming: When Hypnos/Somnus claims his children, a glowing poplar branch dripping with spectral liquid appears over the child's head.

Building: The cabin is made of mud walls and a rush roof. A wreath of red poppies hangs on the door.

Furniture: Inside, there's a hearth with a crackling fire. Above the mantel hangs Hypnos' symbol: a poplar tree branch dripping water from the River Lethe, into a collection of tin bowls. Soft violin music is always playing, and the air always smells like fresh laundry and warm milk. There are always plenty of empty beds, all with feather pillows, fresh sheets and fluffy quilts. The Hypnos cabin makes everyone feel like sleeping, with its cozy and comfortable feel.

Hypnokinesis: Children of Hypnos have the power of hypnokinesis, or the power to manipulate sleep patterns and are able to make someone pass out or fall asleep for a controlled or unspecific amount of time. Children of Hypnos have the ability to cause/cure insomnia.
Sleep Inducement: Children of Hypnos have the power to induce sleep on anyone or anything.
Oneirokinesis: Children of Hypnos have the power of oneirokinesis, or the power to manipulate dreams in any way, shape, or form. Children of Hypnos can induce nightmares and other types of dreams. Children of Hypnos can summon things from dreams to the real world.
Hallucikinesis: Children of Hypnos have the ability to create dream-like illusions of attacks so realistic that they are most likely to catch an enemy off guard. Children of Hypnos can create dream-like illusions in order to twist other's perception of reality or make everyone around them see something that isn't really there. However, the illusion isn't physical and therefore is only a trick of sight. The bigger the change in perception, the more power drained. They can also confuse single individuals in the same fashion.
Sleep Enhancement: Children of Hypnos heal faster while they are asleep and dreaming.
Dream Travel: Children of Hypnos, when asleep, have the ability of Dream Travel, or the power to travel through other dreams.
Poppy Manipulation: Children of Hypnos can also create and control poppies, which, if they so wish, can release sleep powder from their petals.
Memory Manipulation: Children of Hypnos have the ability to alter, retrieve, and in other ways, control memories.
Hypnosis: Children of Hypnos have the power of hypnosis.
Nightmare Manifestation: Children of Hypnos have the ability to manifest a small shadowy creature to fight alongside them for a short time; the shadow takes the form of whatever a person’s worst nightmare is when they fight it, however, it is smaller in size if the thing from their nightmares is large. They can command the nightmare and can create up to 3 copies of it, it cannot be bigger than 2 to 3 times the size of the user and doesn’t wield any extraordinary abilities. (Ex: the nightmare can fly if the target’s nightmare is something winged like a bird. But if it’s a dragon, it may not breathe fire).
Spirit Summoning: Children of Hypnos have the power to summon and commune with spirits as well as summon spirits as Hypnos was considered a chthonic deity.
Imperceptibility: Children of Hypnos can shadow step, as well as hide in shadows.
Fear Manipulation: Children of Hypnos can control fear. Children of Hypnos can make a person come face to face with their own fears. Children of Hypnos can cast an illusion on themselves causing anyone who looks at them to see their worst fears.
Death Stare: Children of Hypnos can use a "Death Stare" to intimidate most people.
Night Enhancement: Children of Hypnos are stronger at night. Children of Hypnos are empowered by the fear of others, shadows and darkness, and moonlight.
Coma Inducement: Children of Somnus (Children of the Greek version can have this power, though it is uncommon) have the ability to place people into a coma that can last up to a week. Extremely powerful children of Somnus can kill people through this coma, as their father does to Romans that fall asleep on duty.
Children of hypnos also tend to be really good with magic and enchantments.

Children of Hypnos are partially conscious while asleep, able to wake themselves up at will.
Children of Hypnos tend to be creepily calm.
Children of Hypnos are heavy sleepers and can sleep through anything.
Children of Hypnos tend to be very beautiful or handsome.
Children of Hypnos are often sleepy.

Blessing of Hypnos

When blessed, the child of Hypnos gains silver-ish eyes, black and silver wings, as well as a more serious personality, they radiate an aura that puts all to sleep, even gods, they are much faster, being able to move like a blur, stronger, have spatial manipulation able to distort the world around them like in a dream, shadow powers grow to extreme levels, able to manipulate the world like if they were lucid dreaming and can make everything around them dark like it was night time.
