Birmingham: Inside the world's biggest Primark store

The world's biggest Primark, located in Birmingham city centre, has become somewhat of a go-to spot for thrifty fashionistas up and down the UK. With five floors of budget buys, the store boasts three different cafés - including a Greggs - plus an impressive second- hand section and a 'gigantic Beauty Studio'.

Wanting to see the colossal Primark for herself, Daily Star reporter Kirsty Card headed on down to the Birmingham store. Upon arriving, she was left amazed by the enormous and very popular beauty section, which filled around one-quarter of the entire first floor.

In a piece written about her visit, Kirsty recalled: "Stepping foot into the section, I felt like I'd set foot into a Boots store and not the cheap clothing store I'd arrived at."

Kirsty was impressed by the wide range of glam treatments on offer at the beauty studio, where customers can splash out on lash lifts, manicures, and haircuts. She was pleased to find me could also treat themselves to a pamper mid-shop, with a handy barber's shop located on the lower floor.

While browsing the WornWell department, which offers 'vintage' and 'pre-loved' items at purse-friendly prices, Kirsty spotted everything from Nike T-shirts to shoes and accessories. She was also left 'shocked to the core' at the sight of a lingerie rail.

Kirsty wrote: "It would take a lot to put me off a Greggs stop – but the thought of donning second-hand undies was enough. Thankfully, a Primark spokesman assured Daily Star the garments are rigorously washed to a 'high standard' before going on sale."

Having worked up an appetite, Kirsty stopped by the Disney café, where her plate of Mickey Mouse-shaped waffles and fruit skewers brought back cherished memories of Disneyland trips.

Kirsty was also impressed by the Tasty by Greggs café, remarking that the only negative here was the sheer number of customers looking to get pics for Instagram. She advised any future customers against hesitating if they spot a rare free table.

According to Kirsty, the store is so large, that it is easy to get lost if you're not careful, while the queues for the tills are quite intense. She did however find the till in the men's section to be the quietest and so was able to pay for her bits there without too much of a wait.

After leaving the store with her new purchases, Kirsty was startled to see a police van pull up suddenly outside, with officers rushing in to deal with an alleged incident involving a group of teenagers.

Although West Midlands Police were approached for comment by the Star, they stated they had no record of such a call to the store.
