An invisible pelmet is an acrylic cover fitted to the top of curtain rails or curtain tracks that reduces the airflow between the glass window and the room. Pelmets are really important.

Easy to install
I installed 2 small and 1 large pelmet above 3 different windows. It was easy to do, although a join on the big one fell apart once, so make sure you stick it down really hard. They really are invisible which I like, as I find box pelmets too heavy.
We are quite thrilled that you like our 'Invisible Pelmets'! Good point about 'sticking down hard', it is the best way to active any adhesive tape.

Invisible pelmet kit- a winner!
The kit is pretty simple and you could find the things you need yourself but why would you bother? In our case we had to make some minor adjustments to ensure the pelmets stayed put-using wider clear adhesive tape over the end pieces of the track, so it didn't interfere with the track did the job- those babies aren't going anywhere! Ecomaster has some great ideas, we'll be back soon. Thanks

Problem with attaching sections together
The little joining bits were too short and did not work. We ended up buying special glue and that didn't work either. In the end we overlapped each section by about a foot then glued them together and that worked. We do have big windows but were disappointed in this aspect of the performance of pelmets.

The Pelmet kit unfortunately is not wide enough to cover the top of my pelmet. Do you have a wider type?

Q: Can you use the invisible pelmets with Holland blinds?
A: No. Invisible pelmets sit on top of the curtain rail.As Holland Blinds do not have a curtain rail, there is nothing for them to be fitted to.Invisible Pelmets suit drapes and curtains on a curtain rail.
Q: What is an Invisible Pelmet and why should I install one?
A: An invisible pelmet is a thin acrylic cover fitted to the top of curtain rails. It acts in a similar way to a box pelmet but is virtually invisible. The thermal efficiency of drapes is greatly improved by the addition of pelmets reducing heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. This will reduce your energy use.

A: Invisible Pelmets are designed to be used on curtains (drapes) that are fitted to tracks. Usually these operate via a draw cord and the top of the curtain sits slightly higher than the front of the track.
Q: Can I use Invisible Pelmet on my curtain rod or my roller blinds?
A: No, Invisible Pelmets are not suitable for curtains on a rod as the curtain hoops will not easily glide under the Invisible Pelmets. Likewise Roller Blinds would rub on the Invisible Pelmets as the blind is operated. Invisible Pelmets are ONLY suitable for curtains on a track.
Q: What does an Invisible Pelmet do and how does it work?
A: When you heat your home, the warm air rises to the ceiling. As it spreads to the sides and starts to descend at the walls it makes its way behind the curtains. As the cooler air sinks it draws more warmer air in through the top. This continuous cooling cycle wastes your winter heating.
If you have pelmets in place, your warm air will be blocked from passing between the curtain and glass of the windows. This means that it is not in contact with the cold glass, preventing the cooling effect. We have heard homeowners saying that the temperature of the air at their floor level is 6 degrees warmer with pelmets than without.

A: The installation of this product does not affect the operation of your curtains. If you find that it does affect the opening and closing of your curtains, then it has been installed incorrectly.
Q: How do I know it has been installed properly?
A: The sections of Invisible Pelmet should sit on the top architrave of your window and rest on the track brackets and the front of the track itself. Sections should be butted up using the supplied joiners. It is most effective if your curtains wrap at the ends to butt onto the wall.
