Kate Middleton would not require an apology to bring an end to her long-running feud with Meghan Markle, according to a royal expert.
The duo's relationship has come under scrutiny after since Prince Harry documented their bitter fallout in his debut memoir 'Spare', which was released in 2023.
The Duke of Sussex said he had found Meghan crying "on the floor" after an argument with Kate over bridesmaid dresses in the lead-up to their wedding in five years ago.
Meghan and Kate, both 42, have barely said a word to each other since after several disagreements between their husbands, Prince William and Prince Harry, with the brothers also no longer on good terms.
Royal expert and author Tom Quinn believes that Middleton doesn't require an apology to mend their relationship - but former Suits actress Meghan "definitely does", suggesting there is still some residual bad blood.
"Kate definitely doesn't want an apology, but Meghan definitely does," he told The Mirror.
"William just thinks the whole thing is a storm in a teacup and can't understand why his brother can't get over the sort of spat that many brothers have to go through.
"Meghan and Harry feel hurt by the way they were treated when they were working members of the royal family and William and Kate feel they were treated poorly once Harry and Meghan left and Harry published Spare."
Kate and William's unwanted olive branch
Quinn also recently claimed William and Kate actually invited Harry and Meghan to England to visit in a bid to repair relations between them, along with children Archie and Lilibet.
The main issue at play is that of security. Due to the fact the couple no longer have tax payer-funded security when they visit the UK, they must pay out of pocket for their own guards and view the risk of using private companies as too big a risk for now.
"There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK," Quinn added.
"William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far."
