I’ve been collecting Kate Spade handbags for the past seven years and I’ve built up quite the collection of Kate Spade purses, shoes, jewelry and clothing. Kate Spade is a brand established in 1993 that is most notably known for their handbags. Many of their designs are unique, colorful and feminine with quirky details and at times, vintage silhouettes. In my opinion, Kate Spade is an attainable “luxury” brand with inclusivity and accessibility for many consumers making it incredibly well-loved!
Is Kate Spade considered high end?
Is Kate Spade considered a luxury brand? A lot of people have asked if Kate Spade is considered to be a luxury brand. I would say that Kate Spade is a high end brand but moreso in the mid-range as it’s definitely not comparable to something like Chanel. Some brands that are similar to Kate Spade are Coach and Michael Kors. These are all high end brands with great quality products at a more affordable price than true luxury items.

Are Kate Spade bags good quality?
One of the most asked questions is “Are Kate Spade purses good quality?” I’d say yes they are!! There’s certainly a reason that I return to them time after time to add to my purse collection. I love the designs, details, colors and quality of Kate Spade handbags. They make a statement in the best way and always garner comments when I wear them. The craftsmanship is beautiful with high quality materials and impeccable designs!
Are Kate Spade purses leather?
What are Kate Spade bags made of? Many of them are, in fact, leather! However, leather is not the only material used for Kate Spade purses. I have handbags that incorporate tweed, canvas, suede, vinyl and pearls. They even have woven materials like wicker for some of the summer bags. I will say that even if a bag is not fully made of leather, there are usually leather details like trim along the bag or on the handles. The pearl handbag above is the only one from my Kate Spade purse collection (that I can think of) that does not incorporate leather in some way.

How much is a Kate Spade Bag?
I would say that the average price of a Kate Spade purses ranges from anywhere between $150 to $400+. If you are looking for a Kate Spade purse that is a bit more budget friendly, I recommend checking out their sale section, outlet stores, second hand apps like Poshmark and of course, their Kate Spade Surprise website. Price depends on many, many factors but these are some great ways to save money on a beautiful handbag!
What is the difference between Kate Spade outlet and Kate Spade New York?
What is the difference between Kate Spade and Kate Spade New York? The main difference between Kate Spade outlet and the Kate Spade boutique items is firstly, the price. Kate Spade outlet purses are much less expensive than what you’ll see on the Kate Spade website. The lower cost is due to lower quality materials and less emphasis on details like the logo, metal feet, etc. You will also most likely find factory outlet handbags that are specifically created for the Kate Spade outlet. I actually own handbags from BOTH lines and since I have so many, I can tell the difference. However, the outlet bags are still great quality for the price (in my opinion) and they are some of my very favorites!

Where to buy Kate Spade handbags?
The best place to buy Kate Spade is directly on their website! For cheaper Kate Spade purses (especially if you prefer non-factory designs), be sure to look at the sale section or wait for a big sale like Black Friday. As I mentioned, the Kate Spade outlet and Kate Spade Surprise website is also a great place to find Kate Spade bags for less. For older handbags, check out secondhand apps like Poshmark! This is actually where I found a lot of my earlier handbags from my Kate Spade purse collection.
How often does Kate Spade have sales?
The Kate Spade Surprise website seems to have sales frequently – I’d say once a month or so. The regular Kate Spade website does many sales through out the year (perhaps 6-8?). The sales range but if you wait a bit, you’ll likely catch one that’s 25-40% off. I personally think that Black Friday is the best time to shop with a discount on Kate Spade of up to 50%! How long does a Kate Spade purse last?
Personally, I think they hold up particularly well! I have about 25 handbags and almost all of them still look brand new (and trust me, I have worn some of them SO many times!). I even have bags that are over a decade old (I got them secondhand 7 years ago). The only issues that I’ve run into are scratches on the metal from use (feel or latch), minor glue discoloration on a couple of them and yellow discoloration on one of my white vinyl clutches at the seam. Almost all of them are still in perfect condition though! Although, I must add that it probably helps that I try to take great care of my bags.
Are Kate Spade bags worth it?
In my opinion, yes! I think that Kate Spade designer handbags are worth it, especially if you can find them at a discount (which honestly isn’t hard these days). I highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t already!

Is a Kate Spade wallet worth it?
Yes! I have two of them and I absolutely adore them! One of them is a wristlet that I love to bring along when I travel. The other is a recent addition – a small cardholder that fits into every single handbag that I own!
Are Kate Spade returns easy?
Kate Spade returns are super easy and effortless. I’ve never had any issues at all with returns or receiving my refund in a timely manner.
Are Kate Spade shoes comfortable?
Aside from handbags, I also have a variety of Kate Spade shoes! I have everything from heels to flats to sneakers and all of them are fairly comfortable. I wouldn’t say that they are as comfortable as my VIVAIA shoes but they are quite comfortable for what they are and I love the designs! I’ve had no issues with foot pain 😉
Does Kate Spade jewelry tarnish?
As you may have guessed, I also have a TON of Kate Spade jewelry from both the boutique and the outlet! Many pieces I’ve had for years and I have not experienced any of my Kate Spade jewelry tarnishing. I keep them organized in my pink jewelry box so I’m sure this helps but they still look as new as they did when I first got them!
Kate Spade or Michael Kors?
Michael Kors or Kate Spade? For me… Kate Spade all the way lol! No offense to Michael Kors but I gravitate toward the feminine and whimsical designs of Kate Spade handbags (as seen from my vast collection). I do have one Michael Kors handbag though! You also might be wondering – Is Kate Spade or Michael Kors more expensive? They are both around the same price point!
Is Kate Spade New York the Same as Kate Spade?
Yes and no. Kate Spade New York is the high end version of the brand but some just called it Kate Spade (I know I do), Kate Spade can also include the Kate Spade Outlet line as well.
