Resist the Urge to “Share” on Facebook
Stop! If you’re writing a Facebook status update that begins with something like, “I can’t wait to get home to my boo and…” or “Last night was…,” please think before you post. Do you really want everyone who follows you on Facebook to stop by your wall and find out you “stayed in” last night? We didn’t think so.

Stay Behind the Cameras
The only time your camera phone should be in the bedroom is if it’s on a charger. Keeping it close by could tempt you two to snap naughty pictures and videos — a bad idea if you’re not certain the person who owns the phone can be trusted with such “sensitive” material. Here’s a tip: Rather than trying to capture the moment to relive later, just live in the now.

Say “No” to TMI Tweets
Twitter is where people share where they are and exactly what they’re doing in real time — a fun idea if you’re at a family reunion or an amazing concert, but a terrible idea if you’re spending the night with your man. Turn off your phone and get into the moment. Say bye-bye to Twitter TMI, ladies. (This means you too, #TAD users!)

Talk, Don’t Text
Just like when emailing or using social networking sites, remember that texts are forever, too. Once you press send you can’t take it back, and the person on the receiving end could hold onto it for future blackmailing, email it, or worse, send it to someone else you didn’t want to know. Sexting sounds exciting when you’re apart, but before you go there, please consider all of the possible ramifications.

Don’t Ever Kiss and Tell at Work
If there’s one place you really shouldn’t be sharing your sexual conquests, failures and questions, it’s at your job. You spend so much time with your coworkers that they can start to feel more like family members, but it’s important to remember that they’re not. Do your job, talk about the weather and get on with your day.

Pick Your Partners Wisely
Make no mistake about it: Men can (and will!) gossip just as much as they think women do. Is he the type to brag? Does he tell his boys everything? Can he even keep a secret? Answers to these questions are required before things get intimate between you.

Pick Your Confidants Carefully
You have different girlfriends for different purposes in your life. This means that the friend who makes an excellent shopping buddy could still have a big mouth. Believe it or not, sometimes the best way for close friends to stay close is to not tell each other everything about their personal lives. Assess the situation and ask yourself: Is he or she really as trustworthy as I think they are?

Skimp On the Details
Your girlfriends may know who you’re dating (or sleeping with), but they shouldn’t have a clue whether he’s a boxers or briefs kind of guy, or what really turns him on. Get our drift? Sharing your secrets is one thing, but sharing your partner’s is crossing a line you’ll wish you hadn’t.
