WHAT IS THE CARBON FACIAL?
If you are looking for a skin resurfacing treatment to diminish imperfections, tighten pores and eliminate impurities on the face such as blackheads whilst simultaneously plumping and tightening the skin, the carbon facial treatment could be the answer.
Non-invasive and painless, this carbon-based treatment, also known as a ‘China Doll Peel’, is highly effective for creating a clear, bright, and firm complexion instantly with zero downtime.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The carbon facialis a two-stage process. Before the treatment begins, we will double cleanse the skin.
A layer of liquid carbon is then applied to the skin,where itpenetrates deepinto the pores. As the carbon dries, it attaches itself to dirt, oil or dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Once dried, the carbon is ready to meet our laser.
The light from our laser is highly attracted to the carbon particles. The carbon absorbs the light energy from our laser, causing it to vaporise. As the laser makes contact with the carbon, you will hear a loud audible ‘crack’. Although loud, this is nothing to worry about, and is just the sound of our laser vaporising the carbon.
As the heat from our laser is pulsed deep into the skin, our skin’s natural healing mechanisms are activated in the deeper layers. Cellular turnover is stimulated, and fibroblasts are ignited to begin regenerating collagen and elastin. Over a few weeks to months, the regenerative results will continue.
For longer term change in the tone, firmness and radiance of the skin, multiple treatments are recommended.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS FROM MY CARBON FACIAL?
The entire treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, afterwards you should see an instant brightening of the skin, which will also feel smoother and softer than ever before. The results will continue to progress throughout your course of treatments.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED TO ACHIEVE MY DESIRED RESULT?
Results are accumulative, each carbon facial treatment builds upon the previous one. Once the regeneration of cell turnover is started, the best way to keep making improvement to the skin is to commit to a course of treatments.
We recommend 3-6 treatments over a period of 2-3 months with a booster treatment every six months for the best results.
DO CARBON FACIALS HURT?
During the procedure you may experience slight tingling and warmth on the skin whilst our laser zaps away the thin layer of carbon.
CARBON FACIAL AFTERCARE
There is no downtime, moderate aftercare includes using sun protection (SPF 50 or greater), avoiding hot water, swimming, sauna’s, and hot tubs. Natural mineral makeup can be applied in just a matter of a few hours after the treatment.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
The Carbon Facial is extremely safe, you can resume your daily routine immediately after the treatment.
Side effects are minimal, you may experience some slight redness and tingling although this will clear up within a few hours and can be soothed with some aloe vera gel. We recommend keeping the skin clean and dry while it is red, but once this has cleared up, makeup can be worn. Try to avoid oily makeup as this will clog your pores; natural mineral foundations are always better. Temporary hair removal can occur, so we always avoid treating those areas with hair. Your results can be enhanced further with minimal sun exposure, reduction in stress and the absence of smoking. We recommend using SPF 50 sun cream to protect the area for at least 1 month following your treatment, as failure to do so could result in hyperpigmentation.
It’s not surprising that celebrities and Hollywood personalities have been associated with treatments like the carbon facial before a special event or as part of their regular skin care regime.
