Lauren Conrad Admits She Hasn’t Spoken to Lo Bosworth ‘In a Minute’ (2024)

Is the rest really still unwritten? Reality TV cameras haven’t been following Lauren Conrad for more than a decade, but that doesn’t stop fans from wondering about her status with her former Laguna Beach and The Hills costars.“I stopped filming and then I just kind of needed a clean break for a minute to kind of emotionally recover. I took some time off and then obviously moved out of L.A,” Conrad told former castmate Whitney Port on her “With Whit” podcast in 2020. “It was one of those things where I was like, ‘OK, well, this isn’t like a healthy space for me anymore.’ I need to kind of, like, live my own life and do this. I kind of, like, removed myself from that whole scene. Really.”The fashion guru was a staple on MTV for years after Laguna Beach, which also starred Stephen Colletti, Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth and more, premiered in 2004. Following two seasons of the high school series, Conrad landed a spinoff titled The Hills, which she appeared on for five and a half seasons from 2006 to 2009. The show, which also starred Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge and Port, ended in 2010 after Cavallari took over for Conrad for the final episodes.Conrad told Port that she is closer with her former Laguna Beach costars — a.k.a. her real-life high school classmates — than those on The Hills.[jwplayer KhwRaRvQ-zhNYySv2]“So Dieter [Schmitz] I talk to all the time. I don’t see anybody anymore but when we did, I see Stephen,” she told Port in 2020, citing the coronavirus pandemic as one of the reasons for the distance. “During holidays and stuff, I’ll usually see Christina Schuller or Morgan [Smith].”Conrad confirmed that she and husband William Tell, with whom she shares sons Liam and Charlie, relocated to Laguna Beach.“I live in my hometown. It’s more seeing people that I grew up with, who I also filmed a show with,” she said.When MTV rebooted The Hills in 2019, Montag, Patridge, Port and more signed on, but Conrad had no interest."I honestly haven't seen it," she confessed to Entertainment Tonight in 2021."I think it's great. I'm glad that they were able to do it again. … I actually don't really watch any reality television. “Lauren‚ or LC if you will — she and I have always been Instagram besties. We're always sharing parent tips or commenting on each other's photos,” Talan told Us in November 2022. “[But] we're married, we're older, you know, it's just, like, we don't have time to even see each other.”

“[A lot of us] moved to L.A. right after the show ended and when we graduated. And so I'm sure shortly thereafter, like, when she did The Hills and things like that I had hung out with Jen and Heidi, Lauren a little bit. But I haven't really spoken to her in a very long time,” the Laguna Beach season 2 star told Us in November 2022. “It's been years and years and years.”

“Probably way back, like, 2006!” Olsen, who went by Alex Hooser when she was on season 2 of Laguna Beach, told Us in November 2022. “She was more of a friend that was in the group that we partied with and ran with. We weren't ever really direct friends. But after the show, I think it was in between when Laguna ended and when she was doing The Hills, I would see her out in Los Angeles because I moved down there for a bit.”

“It’s been a few years now. I haven't spoken to her in a while,” Conrad’s ex, who appeared on Laguna Beach, The Hills and The Hills: New Beginnings over the years, told Us in November 2022. “But it seems like she's doing good and her family and everybody's is doing really well.”

The couple never mended fences with Conrad after Montag and her former roommate had a falling out over Pratt.

“Lauren and I have not spoken,” Montag told Us in June 2022. “Now that we’re both mothers, I think we see how unimportant so much of the drama is. Also it really makes you have a tighter group of friends, and you don’t really have time to chit-chat or have long-term acquaintances. We are just on such different paths at this point. I would hope there is more mutual respect.”

“I’ve lived on the east coast for more than 10 years so we don’t chat super frequently but definitely still friends ❤️,” Bosworth wrote in June 2022 via TikTok.

That November, however, Conrad revealed during her “Back to the Beach” podcast appearance that she hasn’t spoken to Bosworth “in a minute,” adding: “She’s in New York. … She’s doing well.”

Patridge revealed in 2016 that she didn’t stay in touch with Conrad. “I’ve talked to Kristin, I’ve talked to Heidi and every now and then I see Brody. I haven’t talked to Lauren since the finale,” she said. Three years later, Patridge echoed her remarks, telling Entertainment Tonight that she hasn’t spoken to Conrad since 2010.

In her 2022 memoir, Patridge accused Conrad of being “controlling” in friendships and alleged their mutual agent would give her costar deals that the Choices author was offered first. “I blamed my agents for this, but it still wasn’t great for my friendship with Lauren,” she wrote.

Patridge also revealed that the pair crossed paths shortly before the July 2022 book release: “Recently I took Kirra to see Disney on Ice and ran into Lauren and her sweet son. We said hello and chatted for a minute before moving on.”

The two women reconnected for Port’s podcast in 2020, but the City alum revealed one prior she hadn’t previously kept in touch with Conrad.

"I didn't talk to her, but I feel like I talked to someone that knows her and I think she was still really excited for us all to do it. And she's in such a different place in her life, you know?" Port told ET in 2019 about Conrad’s potential reaction to The Hills: New Beginnings.

“I haven’t talked to Lauren for quite some time. It’s been, I don’t know, years,” Jenner told ET in 2019.

When asked about Conrad and Cavallari by Hollywood Life that same year, he made it clear there was no bad blood. “I love both of those girls,” he said. “It would’ve been nice to have them [on season 1 of The Hills: New Beginnings].”

The exes keep in touch.

“Conrad and I, we’re usually down there around the 4th of July and she’ll host people. She does a great job hosting, shocker!” the One Tree Hill alum told Us in 2018.

After launching “Back to the Beach” — a Laguna Beach rewatch podcast — with Cavallari in 2022, Conrad joined for an episode that November, revealing that she and Colletti text often.

Conrad and Cavallari were never friends, but the Uncommon James designer said via the “On The List with Brett Gursky” podcast that the virtual reunion with the cast of Laguna Beach in 2020 wasn’t awkward between the two former rivals.

"So much time has passed and what we went through was so silly and it was so high school that I'm pretty sure we're both over it at this point," Cavallari said in October 2020.

The two women apologized to each other for past name-calling and made it clear there was no bad blood when Conrad joined Cavallari and Colletti’s “Back to the Beach” podcast in November 2022.

Spencer’s sister is one of the few former Hills costars that Conrad keeps up with via Instagram.

During a September 2020 interview on “Dear Whit,” the designer named Schuller as someone she sees “during the holidays and stuff.”

Conrad also told Port that she runs into Smith during the holidays.

Conrad and Colletti reunited with several of their former classmates in July 2021. “Sure do love these peoples,” Schmitz captioned the group shot from Laguna Beach at the time.

"Lauren's a really close friend of Jennifer's," Delgado told ET in 2019, referring to his wife. "She's a sweetheart. I think she wants what's best for us. I think she's that kind of person. She wishes me the best."
