Jumpsuits are a must-have staple in every woman’s closet, no matter her age. The head-to-toe, all-in-one garment creates a striking look that goes beyond a simple casual dress or pants and top combo, and into more fashionable territories. They’re comfortable to wear day to night and are fabulously on-trend for women at any age. Not to mention, the ease of a “one-and-done” look! It's what we’re all looking for these days!

Did you know? The jumpsuit was invented in 1919 by Italian painter Ernesto Michahelles. Michahelles originally called his garment creation “tuta,” a word that refers to the “T” shape of his first suit-style jumpsuit. At that time the style was only worn by skydivers and parachutists which eventually led to what we now call it today—jumpsuit.

Team CA couldn’t be more thankful for the creation of jumpsuits! You’ll often find at least 5 women on our team wearing one on any given day—from a dressed-up everyday jumpsuit to a classy, tailored workwear jumpsuit. Our teammates range from their late 20s to early 70s, so if that’s not testament enough that you can wear a jumpsuit at any age, we don’t know what is!

How to Wear a Jumpsuit

Here are a couple of our tips to keep in mind when wearing a jumpsuit:

1. If you are tall, select a wide-leg jumpsuit that finishes just above the ground.

2. If you are short, choose a cropped jumpsuit style.

3. For a formal event, pick a sleek and well-tailored special occasion jumpsuit that flatters your figure.

4. For a cool casual look, wear a loose-fitting everyday jumpsuit that features an elasticated or drawstring waist.

5. Complete your jumpsuit look with fashionable accessories, such as jewelry and belts, or use layering pieces to add interest.
