Leonardo DiCaprio purchased the mid-century modern residence next to his Bird Streets home for $10 million. The actor now owns one of the largest estates in one of Los Angeles' most exclusive neighborhoods – located in the hills above the iconic Sunset Strip.
This is not the first time the actor has purchased one of his neighbor's properties (that qualifies as one of the world's best homes), and it does not come without a notable history. Leonardo previously fell out with his next-door neighbors (the home's former owners) amidbuilding a basketball courton his land.
According to Dirt, the elderly couple, Ron and Joan Linclau, filed a lawsuit that accused the Great Gatsby actor of negligence. They claimed he had caused significant structural damage to their home, but Leonardo argued the problems stemmed from an illegal retaining wall installed by the couple themselves. A court settled the lawsuit in 2009, and things returned to normal until Joan Linclau's death in early 2022.
Records acquired by Dirt suggest that Ron Linclau sold the couple’s former home to Leonardo in a private, off-market deal for $10.5 million.

The Academy Award-winning actor is no stranger to Hollywood real estate. His property (complete with the Linclau's former home) now encompasses five adjoining pieces of land that span 5.14 acres in the esteemed Californian neighborhood. In total, the complex includes four main houses and four swimming pools – along with 15,000 square feet of total living space.
Little is known about the home's interiors or architectural assets, primarily because the home was never listed for sale. The residence's backyard ideas are equally as mysterious, but there is reportedly a pool and a separate guesthouse situated on the land – surrounded by mature eucalyptus trees.
