French fashion house Chanel has appointed 16-year-oldLily-Rose Depp the face of its new Chanel No 5 L'Eaufragrance, created by in-house perfumer Olivier Polge.
The official announcement, made Monday, will see the daughter of actor Johnny Depp and actress/singer Vanessa Paradis join the ranks of previous Chanel perfume ambassadors, including Marilyn Monroe, Nicole Kidman, and supermodel Gisele Bündchen.
Chanel has enlisted Swedish director Johan Renck to bring the first No 5 L'Eau campaign starring Depp to life, with the release slated for Autumn 2016.

Commenting on the move, Chanel said Depp -- whose rising star sees her with three new movies out this summer ("Yoga Hosers," "Planetarium," and "The Dancer") -- was a natural choice.
"A young, up-and-coming actress, Lily-Rose Depp is already the face for the Chanel Pearl eyewear collection launched in September 2015. She embodies her generation and its values of freedom and boldness to perfection, bringing to the iconic fragrance of the House her youthful freshness and beauty," the company said in a statement.
In September 2015, at just 16 years old, she was cast in her first Chanel campaign, fronting the brand's pearl eyewear collection. The following year she became the face of the house's new fragrance Chanel No. 5 L'Eau, aimed at a younger millennial audience.
Chanel has named Ugandan-Canadian actress Whitney Peak as its first Black fragrance ambassador. The 20-year-old is the new face of Coco Mademoiselle, following on from previous ambassadors Kate Moss and Keira Knightley.
