Well, the time has come. LuLaRoe has decided to retire 8 styles since there have been a wave of new styles released during 2018, and 3 new launches coming in early January. LuLaRoe discontinues styles every so often as to not overwhelm their retailers on what styles they can offer to their customers. So, what are the styles that are on the chopping block? Let’s cover the 8 styles LuLaRoe is discontinues.

What styles are being discontinued?

  • Bud (click HERE to read more about the Bud)
  • Gigi-a form fitted shirt
  • Harvey-a denim jacket
  • Jaxon-a denim jacket
  • Joy (click HERE to read more about the Joy)
  • Kenny (click HERE to read more about the Kenny)
  • Lindsay-a layering piece
  • Michael (click HERE to read more about the Michael)

When are these items going to be discontinued?

Like I said before, LuLaRoe discontinues styles occasionally. This is not a reason to be concerned. During summer of 2018, they discontinued the Lucy skirt. How did they do this? The company told their retailers about this change so they could stockpile these items if they were ones they planned on carrying in the future. So, you will not see these items immediately disappear from your favorite retailer’s racks. (Don’t have a favorite retailer? Well, come check out my shopping community HERE!) I believe these items are being retired because of the new items coming in January 2019 (Not sure what I’m talking about? Click HERE to read more).

HOWEVER, there has been some speculation that some of these styles could be removed temporarily so they can be reworked. I know that I will miss the Joy vest in particular, so I’m hoping that this one is just reworked. I could see the Gigi getting a facelift due to fit concerns. This shirt is very fitted, so women have found that they need to size up to feel more comfortable in this style.

As an enthusiast deeply entrenched in the world of fashion and particularly LuLaRoe, my extensive knowledge allows me to dissect the intricacies of the article dated December 7, 2018, by Devin Zarda. Let's dive into the key concepts mentioned:

LuLaRoe's Stylistic Evolution: The article discusses LuLaRoe's decision to retire eight styles amid a flurry of new releases in 2018 and the anticipation of three more in January 2019. This reveals LuLaRoe's strategic approach to managing its product line, preventing overwhelming choices for retailers and keeping the offerings fresh and relevant.

Retired Styles: The eight styles facing discontinuation are outlined, each with a distinct characteristic. These include Bud, Gigi (a form-fitted shirt), Harvey (a denim jacket), Jaxon (another denim jacket), Joy (a particular style discussed in more detail elsewhere), Kenny, Lindsay (a layering piece), and Michael (another style elaborated upon in the article).

Timing of Discontinuation: The article assures readers that LuLaRoe's occasional discontinuations are a regular practice, aimed at providing retailers with manageable options. It draws a parallel with the discontinuation of the Lucy skirt in the summer of 2018, emphasizing that this isn't a cause for immediate concern. This time-lapse strategy allows retailers to stockpile items for future use.

Speculations and Reworking: The author introduces an intriguing aspect by speculating that some styles might be temporarily removed for reworking. This suggests an adaptive approach to design, possibly addressing issues or making improvements. The example of the Gigi shirt, known for its snug fit, highlights how customer feedback and comfort considerations could prompt a redesign.

Personal Reflections and Community Engagement: The article takes a personal turn as the author expresses sentimentality for the Joy vest and hopes for its return in a reworked form. The mention of community engagement invites readers to participate in the conversation by sharing their opinions and preferences.

In conclusion, LuLaRoe's strategic product management, the specific styles facing discontinuation, the timing strategy for the removal of items, speculations on potential reworking, and the author's personal reflections and community engagement are the key concepts unravelled in this article. As someone deeply versed in the world of LuLaRoe, these insights not only provide information but also prompt contemplation on the future direction of the brand.
