Season 3[]

In "Capoeira", Gael and Isabella have sex in his loft. The next morning, Isabella leaves The Coterie without a word to anyone.

In "She's Back", Isabella returns to The Coterie late at night to visit Gael's rooftop loft. She reveals that she’s pregnant with his baby and she plans to keep it. She doesn’t expect anything, but thought he should know. He wants to help if the baby is his, and she states that it is.

In "Knocked Down", Isabella goes to the doctor as the nurse listens to the baby’s heartbeat. She concludes that Isabella is 9-10 weeks pregnant. The doctor asks Gael how he feels, calling him dad for the first time. The nurse asks Isabella if this is her first pregnancy. Isabella asks about a paternity test. The nurse says a test can be done for 1,700 dollars with results coming within a week. The ultrasound is printed off and the nurse leaves to gather information. Isabella tells Gael that she knows he’s the father and wants him to know it too. She assures him she’ll pay for the test, but he offers to pay half. Since Isabella's parents cut her off, she agrees. They didn’t want her to have the baby and when she refused they decided not to support her.

In "Making a Metamour", Isabella's pregnancy causes her morning sickness, with ice cream being the only thing not to make her nauseas.

In "Picks and Strikes", TBA

In "Lunar New Year", Kelly states that the baby will be born in the year of the Ox, which means they will be honest, much like The Coterie group. Meanwhile, Gael hovers over Isabella by monitoring her hydration, picking her foods, and ensuring they attend parenting class. His hovering reaches a point where she has to tell him to stop smothering her. She assures him that she'll need him to do that later in the pregnancy but not now. Later, Gael tells Callie that his parents will want to meet Isabella and they agree to have her meet them before Callie.

In "Anticipation", Gael tells his family about Isabella's pregnancy. His mother believes that every child needs two parents, but Gael assures everyone that his daughter will have two parents. His mother is touched that they’re having a girl, but he clarifies that they don’t want to gender the child. Jazmin notes it wasn’t her idea, but she thinks it’s very enlightening. Hugo comments to Rafael that he’s lucky he raised his kids in the “dark ages”. Rafael, Gael and Jazmin’s grandfather, congratulates Gael and is thrilled to be a great-grandfather. Gael’s mother wants to meet the mother of her grandchild.

Gael relays the desire to meet to Isabella, who asks how he feels about that, and he is worried about his parents respecting boundaries. Isabella emotionally says that at least his parents care. She sent her parents a copy of the ultrasound but they never responded. Her parent’s love was always conditional and she thinks it might be best if they aren’t in her life or their baby’s. They agree that her meeting Gael's parents is a good idea. Dinner and introductions go well as the family dotes over Isabella and the new baby, despite their sometimes intrusive questions. Upon learning that Isabella's parents aren’t involved, Mrs. Martinez assures Isabella that she will be there too. Gael leaves that up to Isabella if she’s comfortable with that. Isabella welcomes all the help while Mrs. Martinez wants to throw a baby shower. Jazmin tells them not to overwhelm Isabella, but they’re just excited the family is having a baby.

In "Blindside", Isabella uses the parenting journal that Gael's mother gave her. She pastes a picture of the babies ultrasound inside in case the baby wants the book one day. She then tells Gael that a friend of hers owns a restaurant in Santa Barbara and has offered to let her stay in his guest house while she waits tables. She'll move back when her due date gets closer but doesn't see a reason to be in the same city during her pregnancy. Gael later admits to his girlfriend Callie that he doesn't want Isabella to leave as he wants to be at the doctor appointments and attend the parenting classes together. Callie is surprised he plans to do six months of parenting classes with Isabella. Meanwhile, at The Coterie, Isabella begins to experience cramping and bleeding. Dennis asks what’s going on and she tearfully states that she’s cramping and spotting. She’s not sure what’s wrong so she’s going to the ER. He calmly but firmly tells her to slow down and asks where Gael is. She states that he’s with Callie but she doesn’t want to interrupt. She’s going to drive herself but Dennis refuses and states that he’s taking her. He repeats that it’s okay as he walks her out of The Coterie.

In "Closing Arguments", Gael and Isabella return to The Coterie following her health scare. She sobs as she was terrified of losing the baby, but he reassures her that both she and the baby are healthy. Her blood pressure was elevated which caused the scare, so she's being placed on bed rest until it lowers. The expecting parents discuss Gael's role in the pregnancy, as he doesn't want Isabella to take the job in Santa Barbara, but rather stay in LA.

Season 4[]

In "Turn and Face the Strange", the baby is the size of a lemon, with Isabella keeping a pregnancy journal.

In "It's Lonely Out in Space", Isabella looks into baby cribs that convert into a toddler bed, though Gael is taken away from their shopping by Yuri. This proves to be a consistent event, as he misses a doctor's appointment due to work. Isabella is emotional with Dennis over this, as she's been worried ever since their scare. He offers to go with her, something Gael later doesn't approve of. This leads to a minor argument between the expecting parents, with Gael promising to be more involved in the future, especially since he's the only reason Isabella stayed in LA. Isabella also reveals that their daughter is the size of an apple.

In "So This is What the Truth Feels Like", the expecting parents take a baby basics class where they realize just how unprepared they are. Once back at The Coterie, Isabella practices her swaddling on a stuffed bear. The parents agree to try a home birth at The Coterie as the baby will be surrounded by love. However, after a discussion with Dennis about how his son's birth had to be an emergency C-section, Isabella changes her mind and wants a hospital birth. Gael also proposes them getting a place together for the first year, but she isn't sure yet, though promises to think about it.

In "Something Unpredictable, But in the End It's Right", Gael's insecurity and jealousy over Isabella's friendship with Dennis bubbles over. He makes an outburst over her spending time with Dennis and accuses her of wishing Dennis was the baby's father. He demands to know why they were looking at babies in the maternity ward together, or why she didn't correct Dennis's ex-wife who assumed the pregnancy was by Dennis. She admits it was an awkward moment and couldn't imagine the pain Dennis felt seeing his ex-wife with a baby boy. She is clear on who the father is and who she wants to do this with. She's scared of being a terrible mom and he assures her that she won't be. He apologizes as he's insecure because they're not a couple. He's worried about what will happen when she meets someone new and there's a new man in their baby's life. She returns the question wondering what will happen when their daughter has a cool step-mom. He jokes about step-moms being evil and needing to brush up on her bedtime stories. She makes a promise to always put each other first no matter who comes into their lives as they are the parents of their child. They share a close hug.

In "I Don't Belong Here", Dr. Bailian warns Gael and Isabella that their daughter's fetal DNA test shows a high risk for Trisomy 13. It's a chromosomal disorder associated with severe intellectual disabilities and physical abnormalities. Isabella questions if it can be a false positive and Dr. Bailain reassures her that it's possible. The test is a screening, not a diagnosis. There's another test called an amniocentesis which Isabella believes is dangerous. Bailian assures Isabella that it comes with a less than 1% risk of harming the baby. It's the only way to know for sure if their daughter has it. If she does, more than 90% of babies with Trisomy 13 die within their first year of life or are never able to leave the hospital.

Gael and Isabella return to the half-finished crib. They don't know if they can finish it. Isabella is worried they might not have a baby to bring home. He tries to soothe her worries as the baby might not have it. She's tired and wants to be alone. They reconcile that evening and she agrees to lean on Gael throughout this process. They finish up the crib as an act of faith to hold onto hope things are going to be okay and to not give up. The doctor calls the next morning to tell the parents that their daughter is healthy and doesn't have the condition.

In "That's Me in the Spotlight", Isabella meets with her parents under the hope they'll finally love and accept both her and her daughter. The dinner goes well, with Marc and Bianca offering to buy Isabella a condo anywhere she wants, within reason. Isabella is overjoyed at their generosity until they reveal their stipulation: she must give the baby up for adoption. Isabella refuses, but they press that she has to think about what's best for the baby, not just herself. Isabella knows she's what's best for her daughter and won't give her up. They plant seeds of doubt about Gael leaving when he starts a family with someone he leaves. Isabella confides in Gael about the dinner and he confesses that he loves her, so the two begin a relationship.

In "This Is Not My Beautiful House", the baby is born and Isabella reconsiders giving her to Jasmine and her husband.
