Mrs. Shelby is the mother of Thomas, Arthur Jr., John, Ada and Finn Shelby, and sister of Polly. Her husband was Arthur Snr. Shelby.

History[]

Mrs. Shelby comes from a long-line of Gypsies, that were related to the Lee's. At some point in time she was married to Arthur Snr, and had their first son Arthur Jr. in 1887, Tommy in 1890 and John in 1895, two years later she gave birth to Ada. Finally she gave birth to her last child, Finn in 1908. She was a good mother to her children. At some point Mrs. Shelby fell critically ill, and eventually passed away leaving Arthur to raise their children. A short while afterwards Arthur flaked his responsibilities, and abandoned his children into the care of Polly.

Personality[]

When the Lee's insulted Mrs. Shelby in "Episode 2" and called her a "whor*", it caused her sons to lose control and lash out uncaring of the consequences of possibly starting a war with the Lee's by blinding their members. Showing before her passing, she was very close to her children. Her children as well her sister hold her with deep reverence.

Many times Polly's referenced one of her qualities to remind the boys (mostly Thomas,) of their better side. It's implied that she was in good standing with the Lee's before her passing. When Thomas reminded the leader of their connections through their mother, it made her agree to end the feud by marrying Esme off to John.
