National Clinical Care Programmes - Foundation (Level 8) education programmes (2024)

A number of National Foundation Level 8 Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) NMBI accredited postgraduate education programmes are available or, being developed by the ONMSD and National Clinical Programmes. The aim is to support the implementation of the HSE National & Integrated Clinical Care Programmes.

This reflects a move to standardisation of the knowledge and skills of nursing staff for working in specific areas and, the development of core competencies.

Some of these programmes are aimed at nurses/midwives who have a number of years work experience in their specific clinical area whilst other programme's are designed for nurses/midwives who have limited or no experience.

Funding

All courses fees for registered students are provided by the ONMSD directly to the relevant colleges.
